Depression is not easy to overcome. It is what it is. - anon

First off, being depressed and being an MT in today's world is even more depressing. This job brings anyone down who maybe did not have depression. We are being abused. They always ask why people stay in abusive situations. Well, MTs know how hard it is to start over. This job has been a huge abuser. You are fortunate that you have a degree. You really should pursue it. Many of us who worked in-house had the opportunity to capitalize on education which would have been funded by the hospitals, but we were raising families.

Just don't be so hard on a gift and party from your husband. He did go on Facebook! Many will not even do that. Accept him for not being a phony though either as many men are not that into extreme gift giving. Hard enough to make ends meet. When has this MT job ever even sent you any recognition?

The golf community sounds like more of a struggle than it is for someone who suffers from anxiety as it is. Maybe the aura of the surroundings makes up for the physical work that plagues your thoughts.

As far as the dogs go, it is a very hard call. Women get attached as is our nature. Most men, not so much. But it is a huge responsibility. Sometimes we have to think what is best for the animal too. You need to talk to come to an agreement. Animals have feelings too and if there is a good home and someone you know who will love the animal as unconditionally as you would, then that is a good thing. It is not easy for a depressed person to separate from what they have clung on to either.

Life is not easy. There are no answers. Nobody has that answer book as to why bad things happen to good people. Feel your pain. Just letting you know you are not alone.
