That's easy. They settled because it was cheaper to settle than to fight.

If it was a criminal case, settling wouldn't be an option.

You "haven't seen anyone trying to pin anything on him?" Really? I'm pretty sure you have seen it. People from Congress, reporters, and retired government officials have said he's guilty of one thing or another. People posting here have said it as well.

Didn't someone here recently post that the special counsel (Mueller) is a Republican? :)
