I guess maybe we are misunderstanding - each other or maybe I

I am explaining it wrong to a degree. I understand taxes are building roads, schools, etc., but if it were totally capitalistic, companies would be building roads and we would be paying to drive on all roads, so it is more of a socialistic feature on how we build roads and fund schools.

basically, we are more of a mixed economy, but we struggle over the balance of the mix.

I still say we need a well-balance blend of socialistic and capitalistic economy and we are not getting that and this is what is causing divide in our country. We wouldn't have the great need for more social programs if people who owned business provided living wages for us to be able to take care of ourselves. The gap in wages and profit demands of companies is unbalanced and does not provide the ability for many of us to live our lives without having to rely on social programs.
