I do have those feelings sometimes - sm

As long as the person is behaving civilly toward me and there is no overt bad behavior, I try to be kind.

First of all, we don't really KNOW if they don't like us or have a problem with us unless they say so. Secondly, if the person definitely does not like us and if we know we haven't done or said anything wrong to the person, it is really their issue.

Try as I might to like everyone, sometimes I just dislike someone. If they have done or said something wrong to me, I'll talk to the person about it. You never know, maybe we can work it out or there has been a misunderstanding. If, however, there isn't really anything to confront them about, it's my issue with which to deal. I still try to be civil and kind, though, because that's how I would want someone to treat me--even if they dislike me.

Also, if I unknowingly offended someone, I would want them to confront me about it rather than behave in a rude or passive-aggressive way toward me. Otherwise, how would I even know why they were being hostile? That way we can clear up a misunderstanding and avoid unnecessary damage to the relationship. Sometimes just exercising good communication can help two people to avoid a world of hurt and trouble. Sometimes that isn't the case, but at least you were honest and tried.

If it's just that the person does not like you, go on and be your fabulous self anyway. We're not in control of other people's feelings. Life is too short to worry about what we cannot change.
