The problem with MT work is first it was - offshoring now it is technology.

I agree it is a failing industry and people should consider getting out. The problem is that many MTs have been doing it so long and I'm sure you recognize that when you tell a company you are a medical transcriptionist, they don't really comprehend what all that involves and want some young whipper snapper fresh out of college instead of a 50 or 60 year old to fill the positions. many of us have tried to get out but can't and are just biding their time hoping to make it to retirement. I did get out of the whole Nuance/MModal scheme but could not find anything out of the transcription business.

I agree that putting money into our infrastructure would help, not only for construction jobs but other jobs as well. Let's face it, our infrastructure is crumbling and that is one of the biggest problems in our country. I really don't see where that is an issue carried only by "socialists" though. That is a problem that should worry everybody. I also don't see where $15 minimum wage is a "socialist" thing. Wages have been stagnant for years and it needs to be raised. Cost of living goes up but wages don't. Many states have increased the cost of living but it's the feds that leave it at $7 something. Seriously, can you feed your family on that? Why is everything that improves life for all considered socialism for some people? Do you really buy the bull that companies will look out for you?
