What reasons are there to stay with Dems? - sm

Posted: Jul 11th, 2018 - 2:21 pm In Reply to: I would do some actual research before you - do that. People still don't

LGBTQIA rights?
-- Didn't the Supreme Court solve that years ago with the gay marriage ruling?

Abortion rights?
-- Worst case scenario, where is that going to go? Back to the states to decide?

Illegal immigration?
-- Prove that we need lawlessness and that a lack of immigration enforcement makes us stronger. Pubs can agree with Dems about increasing immigration with one exception, encourage LEGAL immigration through recognized ports of entry.

Healthcare?
-- I checked the exchanges right after Obamacare was enacted (well, after they were working again) it was going to cost me $500/mo with a $10,000 deductible for a Bronze plan. I'd have to pay $16,000/yr out of pocket for medical expenses before I got any benefit from a plan. It wasn't worth it. I opted out.

Pre-existing conditions?
-- If you can't afford basic health insurance getting affordable coverage for a pre-existing condition is a moot point.

Abolish ICE? Democratic Socialism?
-- I don't see how these things work in favor of American democracy, but you are free to make your points and state your opinions if this is something you believe in.

Impeach Trump?
-- Why? By any objective measure he's reasonably popular. (About as popular as Obama was at this point.) He hasn't done anything fascist. He reduced taxes and got the economy moving again (increased GDP, lowered unemployment, helped minorities get jobs).

That's what my research shows. What do you have?
