Prime digital subscriptions - Look around Posted: May 22nd, 2018 - 7:34 pm In Reply to: I'm not sure if I'm going to renew. I have a few digital - subscriptions with Amazon Prime
You don't need to be a Prime member to get Acorn or Britbox. You can subscribe through your Roku account (if that is how you stream) or through their website, the price is the same. Amazon makes people think they have to be Prime members to get the channels, but they offer no incentives as the price is the same if you purchase the standalone service. Also, most of them will give you a free month when you sign up, Amazon doesn't do that. The pricing on the music service is goofy - 7.99 for Prime members, 9.99 for non-members. You are not getting a deal. That membership is costing you about 20 dollars a month because it's an add on to what you already pay for Prime. My opinion is that Amazon got greedy. Everyone is going to be hit with the new rate, it kicks in when your annual membership expires, I think it's $12.99 a month now if you pay by the month.
