Much of his conviction was based on the testimony of NYT reporter Judith Miller (she testified that she BELIEVEDd it was Libby who told her about Plame. Her testimony was the key to convicting Libby.

But she later read Plame’s autobiography “Fair Game” and realized that she had been misled by special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald.
