First, the article you posted was a New York Times article, which they have proven do not tell the truth. So, let me break down what actually happened.

(Didn't put the first sentence of the paragraph because it used swear words not allowed here)...the Wall Street Journal has picked this weekend to revive a rumor that it first published shortly after the election, and which President Trump’s lawyers have previously denied." (note the word "rumor". A rumor is not the truth all the time.

"Clifford claims that her encounter with Trump was consensual, and the White House dismissed the story as a “recycled report”. - See that? The key word is "consensual". Unlike what Clinton did with the his line of women. Aww, but we don't want facts to get in the way of their fantasy now, do we.

“These are old, recycled reports, which were published and strongly denied prior to the election,” a White House official said, responding to the allegation of a sexual encounter involving Mr. Trump and Ms. Clifford. The official declined to respond to questions about an agreement with Ms. Clifford. It isn’t known whether Mr. Trump was aware of any agreement or payment involving her.

She also signed a statement that said “Rumors that I have received hush money from Donald Trump are completely false,” the statement said.

It's getting pretty tough with all the fantasy stories coming out to be lies now, isn't it.
