We've had presidents in the past say very vulgar things in private. We know this because it's been published later in memoirs.

I would not advocate holding Trump to a higher standard than previous presidents. Sometimes the quickest way to get a point across is vulgar. That's just the way language works.

I would expect the press to treat Trump with the respect they've given previous presidents. But the press is free to do what they want. If they feel it's good to ridicule the president and that furthers their goal, so be it.

Will Trump censor himself in this type of hostile environment? I hope not. I'm realize I'm being selfish. I enjoy watching people get twisted up over stupid stuff like this.

I don't think that's a bad reflection on the electorate. It shows people are realistic. They know real people sometimes talk this way. They know they talk this way sometimes themselves. Nothing wrong with that.
