No where does it say healthcare is a right - Did NOT "fail this family" - sm

First, nowhere in the article does it say she was refused healthcare or didn't have healthcare.

Second, healthcare is not a right. It is also not a privilege.

Washington Post has a good article:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

These words in the Declaration of Independence define the “rights” of American citizens. They do not include health care.

What you are saying when you say healthcare is a right, you are then saying someone else should pay for something you get. Who is supposed to pay? Why should I have to pay for healthcare for you and 323 million other people. Or the better question would be why should you have to pay for my healthcare. I'm sorry, but I don't make that kind of money to pay for everyone's healthcare. If not us, then I guess you think that doctors should just give their time away for free.

People pay into an insurance plan that helps pay for their healthcare. That's how it should be, but it should also be reasonable.

Garner's death was at the fault of brutality. His daughter it sounds like had a health condition. I'm sorry to hear that she passed away, but it looks like she had healthcare.

So if healthcare is a right, then you have to say eating is a right, so groceries and restaurants, etc should be free. Housing is a right, so there should be no rents or mortgages, it should be free. Clothing is a right. We have to stay warm after all, so clothing should be free.

Healthcare is also not a privilege. A privilege is something available to only a certain person or group of people. Healthcare is available for everyone.
