Somehow I missed this news story from October. It's really too bad that I missed out on two months' worth of LULZ:
"Rochelle Gutierrez, a math education professor at the University of Illinois, published an anthology explaining why mathematics coursework is racist."
So, do you understand now? NUMBERS, working them in formulas, and understanding mathematical concepts -- it's all "racist."
Never mind that there have been SCORES of successful minority mathematicians whom this woman does a disservice to.

As stated at the link, those ladies served a vital role in the early years of NASA's space program.
The biggest irony of all is that this IL prof is HISPANIC!! If math curricula are so "racist," how'd she manage to get through them, graduate, and go on to become a PROFESSSOR of mathematics!? She would have a very difficult time arguing her case in a court of law because the facts belie her claims.
This woman -- and others libs like her -- would be doing a real service if they devoted their time and efforts to ENCOURAGING minority students to study math. Our country NEEDS graduates in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. Instead of working on help filling these needs, they spend time on this divisive BS.
Another positive thing they could do is work to tear down the cultural barrier that exists in some communities -- especially the black community -- against working hard and succeeding in school. Somehow that has been twisted to be "Uncle Tom" and "white."
But, no, it's more "fun" to stir things up and play the liberal "racist" card I guess -- even against NUMBERS.
