This is NOT going in a good direction.

Anytime a party to a contract is COERCED -- even by the government -- the contract is considered VOID since the party was under duress.

Again, these are PRIVATE CITIZENS, NOT PUBLIC ENTITIES. A private citizen has the RIGHT to enter or NOT enter into a contract.

This is a very dangerous slippery slope, especially since having a cake baked for you is not essential and has ZERO to do with housing, etc. that the Oregon law was passed to specifically address.

For as long as I can remember, small business owners have displayed, "We have the right to refuse service to anyone" signs posted in their stores. This is their assertion of their RIGHT to pick and choose whom to do business with.

This latest ruling ERODES those rights.
