If you haven't already done so, consider reading the book of Job. Horror after horror befell him. His "friends" implied that Job must have done something to deserve his misfortune. However, this was not true. Even though Job knew what was happening to him was not because he had done something wrong, he still did not understand it. He suffered so much, but he did trust God. God eventually restored Job's health and wealth, and he and his wife had more children.
A life of faith is not an easy one. That's probably because faith does not grow without a person experiencing trials. In fact, that is exactly when faith is given the opportunity to grow.
"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18
This is not to say you are not suffering. You ARE suffering, and we all do suffer in this life. However, the children of God are promised blessings not seen or heard of in this life.
"But as it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Corinthians 2:9.
