Something people should remember. This was Alabama, many years ago. - It was not that unusual for "older" men

to date younger women or girls of an age that today (even in Alabama) might not be considered appropriate. Moore has said that he never dated anyone of a young age without her parents' or mother's knowledge and consent.

Society changes, as we all know. Let's put a reverse case and suppose that Moore had dated black women (of any age). Back then, especially in Alabama, it would have been considered completely inappropriate socially, but if today someone came out with an "accusation" of that nature, we would be saying "Yeah, so what?" and few would pay the least bit of attention to it.

We would know that we should not apply 2017 social mores to 1977 behavior.

Yet that is precisely what we are doing so now with respect to Moore. We are judging him by 2017 standards, which I promise you are very different from that time and that place.

Let's rid our minds of the things that prevent us from analyzing situations rationally and fairly.
