Actually, she added not only the date, but also the LOCATION... - ..and that is very material.

She offered the location (in the year book) as proof that he was in the restaurant where she worked and later that same night offered her a ride, and then assaulted her.

He might have signed the yearbook anywhere and at any time. He probably signed lots of them, being a local political "celebrity" of sorts. It might have been a football game, or a rally of some kind.

Sorry, folks, but with this information it's simply not possible to believe any part of her story.

I'm not from Alabama and have no horse in this race except a personal commitment to rational thinking. As such, I believe nothing of this nature without proof, especially when it doesn't smell good in terms of the "facts" that are alleged - and this one stinks to high heaven. I dunno, I guess it's the cop in me, who learned from experience that there are many things in this world that ain't what they seem to be, and who could tell you stories about the lies I've been told by people with the pop-eyed innocent look of an infant - and those lies included false allegations by people with an axe to grind (including more than one unhappy wife/girlfriend!) - as well as false denials. When it comes to she-said-he-said, absent any other proof (and other accusers are not proof of any individual incident any more than one coin toss is predictive of the next one), I'm totally agnostic.

Bring me proof, and then we'll talk. All this stuff a half century ago...please.
