Looking back on my almost 30 years in the workforce -- doing not just MT but a banking job, a couple of sales jobs (both high-end and low-end), and a few administrative positions -- I realize that I have never, ever had honest management.  They lied to us about everything from minor stuff to major (like how long our jobs would last, etc.).

I did have ONE immediate supervisor in a hospital who was a mentor and a friend who told me the truth in private.  But that was the exception, and what she told me was off the record so on an unofficial basis.

Even the physicians I worked for had me lie to the employees.  Back then I was young and naive so that was a shocker.  Not anymore.

Sad, isn't it?  But this is how the world is.
