I was wondering if anyone here had been successful with online dating. I know a whopping TWO people who met their husband or SO via these sites. It seems that most people just churn, churn, churn through prospects without getting anywhere.
I joined a site and am learning how dishonest people are. Many men post photos circa 1952 -- they're so old the colors have faded! Or they hide their bald heads in caps or hats. I finally encountered someone who I thought was a good prospect, but he lied to me about his name. Dishonesty so early? I don't think it bodes well. (He only told me his real name after I apologized for calling him the "wrong" name [name in profile] rather than the "real" name he had told me via message -- which turned out to be false.) Googling revealed that most people lie online -- I do not so am an outlier -- so I'm thinking maybe I should ask him about it and give him a chance. Maybe he did it for security reasons (or is he paranoid?). Anyone here go through this? What do you think?
