If these statues of traitors to the union are allowed to remain, what other statues of disgraceful periods in our history would be acceptable? How about a bronze statue in Alabama depicting three black men hanging, Fritz Kuhn, a klansman burning a cross, etc. Shameful history should never be forgotten but belongs in the classroom, history books, and in the hall of shame.
