Trump says shooting in Texas is not a gun problem - but a mental health problem. sm

Then why, in the last 3 years, has the government cut spending for mental health by 4.3 billion dollars?  Why has no action been taken on the bump stocks?  This really is not a pub/dem issue but a humanity issue.  I realize that much of new "gun control" would be an uphill battle.  It may take up to 25-50 years for it to be effective.  What are we waiting for?  We need to get started.  I am not for completely taking anyone's guns away, but this stuff about "we send our thoughts and prayers" is getting old.  It is neglecting the entire problem.  There needs to be a "middle ground" solution and the NRA's opinion should not be considered even if it does cost politicians their support/$$.
