I was a big fan... - Bravo Fan

when I was growing up and started watching the Oscars every year back in the 1960s. Lots of heavyweight stars back then, Paul Newman, Liz Taylor, plus the Golden Era stars, Katherine Hepburn, etc. They were often hosted by Bob Hope. I used to love it. My enthusiasm started to wane in the past 10 or so years.

The last awards show I watched was The Emmy a few weeks back. I DVR'd it and then by the magic of fastforwarding I saw everything I wanted to see and skipped all the rest. The next morning on the news they were exclaiming that the Emmys had been very political this year. Say what? Really? Guess I did an excellent job of fastforwarding :)

I still enjoy the Golden Globes because I usually become aware of good shows that I didn't even know existed. So, at least it's educational.
