That's your preference, however, once again you are wrong - Mrs. Tingles - sm

You don't need to go to a govt propaganda school to meet children with different backgrounds. There are tons of groups to join. School is for learning essential skills they need as an adult (math, science, history, english, etc). People don't send their kids to school just to "meet children with different backgrounds, different economic backgrounds, different cultures". That is not what school is for. There are clubs, and other groups. Have you never heard of Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, 4H, Boys and Girls Clubs of America. There are hundreds of other clubs. Whether you want social skills or science and math skills. Here are some of the reasons why before and after school clubs are so important:

* - Community spirit grows as mixed ages interact.
* - Children interact with those they may not know.
* - Social skills and creativity are nutured.
* - Older kids help the younger.
* - Younger learn from the older.
* - New skills are learned by both youth and adults, learning is integrated.
* - Mixed ages are supported.

Yes, education is more than the three Rs and in case you don't understand this, we don't home school in "mama's kitchen". We home school in a classroom in our homes. We learn about other countries, their cultures, their beliefs. World maps, and other school-related information hangs on our walls. Home-schooled children even take class trips, just like the propaganda schools take.
