obama - no end to his special abilities

Just saw a clip of him paying tribute to Al Green by singing a snippet of "Let's Stay Together."  Not bad, not bad at all.  Lucky Michelle.

This pres is the biggest joke the US has ever seen. He hasn't done one thing he said he would with his transparent administration - they should all be removed from office considering their actions and agenda since he took office.

We disagree - just me

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. I don't believe people like Capone, Ayres, criminals, etc, should be an inspiration to any child, girl or boy. Everything we were told about him has been a lie manufactured by the people who put him in place. Sorry, don't want my kids idolizing people who lie to get where they are. I don't consider people like Capone, The Clintons (both of them), The Obama's (both of them), Pelosi, Mitt, and other sleazy criminals, politicians, lawyers, etc, etc, etc. to be a good inspiration for our children. Children should look up to heros, people who do good for others, police, firemen, soldiers, teachers. People who don't lie just to get what they want, throw parties and show off their "bling" ALL the time while families are losing their jobs and homes and openly showing they don't care about them, just themselves.

So, sorry, I will just have to disagree with you.

Great to see your post. Agree with all you said. Somehow "an unrepentent terrorist" who wishes he had done more is not my idea of an idol. Nor is Rev. Wright. Birds of a feather. Never impressed with Clintons (either one). Couple more power hungry than these 2 would be hard to find. Thing they would sell out each other to get what thney wanted. Really refreshing to see this point of view.

"Unrepentent terrorist"? Shame on you.

"Terrorist" is a very specific word with an actual definition. It is not a synonym for words like "criminal" or "dishonest".

You shoot yourself in the foot with this inane style of communication.

I am so happy some folks still present this list of people on the periphery of his life as their strongest case against him. It only highlights what a weak case they have for attacking him. There are facts directly implicating the republicans in personal actions against the American people, but they focus on 3 of thousands of people Obama has encountered in public life. Its great. Viva el Obama!

Sweet post; to the point. I can deal with differences of opinion regarding policy, but in my opinion, the kind of attacks we see above relating to the man's personal character are spurious and deaden the conversation.

just how effortlessly Obama can connect to his audiences, both physical and virtual, something Mitt and Newt could spend 10 lifetimes trying to master and never get to first base. He makes the GOPers heads explode simply by singing a few bars of a song, as we can plainly see by malcontents who pack together to commiserate, pat themselves on the back and slam the man for his charm and million-dollar smile, pun entirely intended.

By contrast, the GOPs idea of entertainment is when Newt gets up behind a podium, insults debate hosts, dog whistles racist codes we've been trying to bury for decades, throws tantrums when given the opportunity to respond to open marriage allegations, calls his ex-wife a liar, proudly pits his kids against her for political gain and gets a standing ovation from the family values clans. Mittens cackles as he throws down "maybe" tax return jokes when reminded of his dad's precedent, nearly gets himself booed off the stage, flashes his best deer-in-the-headlights gaze, yet still may seize his party's nomination because he is so "electable."

Just sayin'...

Sad, isn't it? The "anyone but Obama" crowd will vote for ANYONE, regardless of their policies or lack thereof. Being an independent, I find it very discouraging that people vote so blindly.

You just described your own "club" - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Independent? Uh huh, okay. Your statement is a true die-hard democrat statement. And being a proud American citizen that belongs to no party I actually DO find it very discouraging that people vote so blindly. I'm not a democrat saying the republicans vote blindly (which is what you are doing) and I'm not a republican saying the democrats vote so blindly. I am independent and I say both your parties are voting blindly. My grandma (a true and proud die-hard democrat) said the exact same thing you did all the time "they would vote for a dog and not a democrat". The funny thing is though, the democrats will blindly vote in ANYONE, even with their lack of experience, just to have a democrat in office too. Both parties are guilty. I wish you could see that. People should not be loyal to a party, but should vote for the best candidate.
Described own club - SM
[ In Reply To ..]
You nailed it. I, too, am Independent and do extensive research on all candidates. What I have found routinely is that the Dems are the most unforgiving, untolerant of any crowd. There are very few that will even listen to another opinion, let alone open their mind to consider there are better ways than the Dems' way in situations. Always good for a laugh when they scream "compromise".

I love your incisive post. It's like intellectual dynamite. (Prepare to be assailed.)

Er hmmmm....Corrections/clarifications to your post - Agree with some, disagree with some - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I'm not sure about the "effortlessly connecting to his audiences". That's kind of misleading. Of course he's going to "connect" to his audience as they are going to see him because they like him. "Both physical and virtual" - Ewww...that's kind of a creepy way of saying it. I'll say this. Obama is a good looking guy (I can see that and its not "virtual"). Very well spoken, has a good sense of humor. From that one sentence he sang sounds like he has a good voice, but anyone who sings Al Green would sound great (meaning Al Green is a legend).

Also, kind of agree with you on Mitt and Newt, but not to the exact level of hate I hear here. Mitt? Oh, don't even get me started on him. It's not hate though, its that sick feeling in the pitt of my stomach every time I see him or hear him speak. I just don't trust him AT ALL (but then he would fit right in with all of congress) :-) Newt...I have mixed feelings about him. I don't care for him. Can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I don't trust him. He's been caught in lies, and .... (okay sitting here trying to think of other reasons I don't like him but none are coming to mind (too tired). There is just something about him. I just don't know what it is.

I do think Mitt and Newt could master the same level of charisma that Obama has that you adore, because again it comes down to the people who go to see him enjoy him and if it was an audience of Mitt or Newt fans you would get the same response you do from the people who like Obama, just like the same level when Bush or Regan was in.

I think your comment about GOPers head exploding and patting themselves on the back for his "charm and million-dollar smile"...that's another one of those creepy ewwww statements. P.S. - Would you like a napkin to wipe off that drool? Or a mop to soak up the pool on the floor?

Okay, now...

1. Newt "insults debate host". I just watched a clip (which I will provide a link below so everyone can hear it). He didn't insult him. He told it like it is AND he received a standing ovation for it. They are there for a debate about politics and the CNN guy (an opponent of the republicans) brings up a tabloid issue that his ex-wife said? Really? What about the economy, bills passed, voting record, what good or bad has he done in politics. Issues that will affect the country...no he brings up a tabloid issue of something his ex (yes I'll say it again "ex") wife said. Newt's words were exactly correct. He said “I think the destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media makes it harder to govern this country, harder to attract decent people to run for public office. And I am appalled that you would begin a presidential debate on a topic like that,” Gingrich said, prompting a standing ovation from the crowd. “I am frankly astounded that CNN would take trash like that and use it to open a presidential debate,” Gingrich added. He said it rather cooly, calmly and matter of fact. BTW - You will never get a fair debate if you have people host it who hate any candidate not in their party and purposefully tries to cut them down so they will lose. Just an astute observation many have seen over the years. So here is the actual statements by Newt to the CNN guy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc4lnlDVW3o

2. "dog whistles racist codes we've been trying to bury for decades". Just what does that mean? I've been searching all over, but can't find anything on it, except Chris Matthews & Ed Shultz articles, so I know where you got it from. I'm still trying to figure out what they mean by it. There was a video clip of Matthews saying it, but I just couldn't listen to him. I've got a headache as it is, I don't need it to turn into a migraine. And if Matthews or Schultz is behind it you know it isn't credible. I'm still trying to find an example of Newt whistling racist codes. Finding no examples of it, but I figured they'd pull the racist card at some point. So unless there is some example of what you mean, there is no proof this is even true - whatever it is.

3. Throw tantrums. Can you please provide some links of his tantrums. I've seen Obama's tantrums and Mitt's, Bill Clinton & Hillary Clinton's too, and I even saw Anthony Wiener's tantrum (and that was an excellent specimen of a tantrum if I say so myself) :-) Just don't know what your idea of a tantrum is. I'd love an example and if provided I will most likely believe it, just don't know of one (p.s. disagreeing with other candidates does not count). Oh wait, your statement was "throws tantums when given the opportunity to respond to open marriage allegation". Sorry. That was not a tantrum and doesn't qualify as one, see my #1 with a video clip of the actual event that proves tjat is not a tantrum. As for statements of his ex-wife that should be left for the tabloids...not a political debate about issues and the CNN guy should have known better.

4. Calls his wife a liar. Well that's because she is. Would you have preferred him to call her an "un-truth teller" maybe that might have sounded better, but a liar is a liar. Sure, I think Newt is a liar about certain things. What I can't tell you right now because my mother tells me he is a liar but she never said about what. However, in this case his ex-wife lied. - “Let me be quite clear. The story is false. Every personal friend I had in that period who knew us said the story is false,” Newt Gingrich said to applause from the South Carolina crowd.

“Nightline” also interviewed Newt Gingrich’s two grown daughters from his first marriage, who said the matter has been over for a decade and is not relevant.

Also, most ex-wives do not want anything good for their husbands. My mother lied all the time about my father after they divorced. His wife could come out and say anything she wanted, doesn't mean it's true. I am not finding anything in my research to prove what she said is true. If you have evidence (and not from Matthews or Schulz spouting their hate), I'd love to see it. If it's true I will believe you. There is something I don't trust about him, but I also am not going to just pin a false allegation on him if its not true. I'm sure there are enough skeletons in the closet without having this lie. And it sounds like his children are old enough to make up their own minds. Having come from a family where my mom pitted me against my dad, I knew truth and lies and I made my owned informed decisions as do his kids. As for the rest of the rant it just sound personal and with no evidence to back it up.

Like I said, I don't care for the guy and if you have proof on the allegations and it checks out I will believe it. Otherwise, I'm not going to pin lies on him. That's just not right now matter how much you hate a person.

Obama has charisma. That's for sure. Just like Bill Clinton did. I once heard someone who went to the white house for a dinner with Bill Clinton as a guest. They said that he is charismatic for sure, but a lot of the people (women in particular) were in a trance-like state). This guy voted for Clinton and supported him, but he said there was just something very creepy that made the hair on his neck stand up watching this happen. Obama is the same way. He is a likable guy though.

As for "electability"...that has nothing to do with the race. Can tell you this, Mr. Mittens has already been chosen. The others are just a game they play to make us feel like we have a say. In the end if you feel like voting then it's like my mom said, vote for the lesser of two evils. Or don't vote at all. I would one day love to vote for someone I could believe in. Someone who is actually there for the people of the country and who makes the best decisions. Someone who is not bought. Someone the country could rally behind. Someone like a Kennedy or an Eisenhower, Lincoln, Washington, or John Adams. We haven't seen anyone like that since...well since Eisenhower. But right now that is only a dream.

It appears you misunderstood the language the poster was using.

Connecting to audiences, "both physical and virtual" means connecting to people both in person and via the media - it is not a reference to his appearance!

Your misapprehension of syntax is a shame; assessing others as "creepy" due to your own lack of understanding is regrettable, but this quote is just plain gross:

"Would you like a napkin to wipe off that drool? Or a mop to soak up the pool on the floor?" That's what I call creepy.

I think you might have a little target fixation.
