World War II Memorial and guess what else

Posted: Oct 3, 2013

If you haven't heard yet, the White House (obama) refused access to the World War II veterans until they finally had to tear down the fence themselves just to get in there. Did you know he also refused access to Vietnam Vets to their Memorial wall on Memorial Day 2012? http://grumpyelder.com/2012/06/obama-denies-entrance-to-vietnam-vets/ ;

Obama threatens to veto spending measures to open parks, honor veterans....

Yesterday, groups of World War Two veterans did the unthinkable. After the White House denied a request to let veterans tour their memorial, the vets defied the feds and stormed the barricades. It was a defiant act that spat in the face of Harry Reid's decision to shut down the federal government. Today, we're learning that not only has the administration doubled down on its decision to keep vets from entering the site, but that the orders to do so are coming directly from the White House.

As has become routine in situations like these, Twitter has been the best source of continuing information. In particular, The Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes has been all over the story since early this morning.

He also closed the Vietnam Vets Memorial last year 2012 on Memorial Day.

happening.

The pubs used a "We care about YOU so much that we'll let you in while that bad, bad Obama keeps you out. No mention of the fact it was the REPUBLICANS that is putting this nation in jeopardy by shutting down the government. So those Republicans got a great photo op yesterday, yet little children with cancer are being turned away at their treatment hospitals. (And the NIH also has had funding cut so it might be time for another attack on American soil, be it a false flag or a real attack, because Republicans have never seen a war they didn't like.)

What they are doing by closing down the government is certainly reckless and dangerous. We need to get some adults to run the Congress, and I hope it's not too late for that to happen.

The Republicans are dreaming if they think Obama is going to give up his signature achievement in the Affordable Care Act. By the way, watching TV the other night, I saw people being asked which they prefer: Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act, and most of them chose the Affordable Care Act instead of Obamacare. I think there were only one or maybe two Americans who realized that the two of them are the same thing. So we've got our fair share of uninformed people in this country.

They chose ACA over Obamacare because they - Truthhurts

didn't KNOW they were the same...didn't you see the one woman who was embarrassed when she was told they were one the same?

This just shows you that people don't pay attention to what's happening around them. That was the whole point of that segment.

I made a post lower down on how Obama is breaking the law. Maybe you should check it out? It concerns the Constitution and EO's.

story the other day where a group of World War II vets went to visit the memorial and it was closed. If this is the story you are talking about, a handful of congressman finally let them in, they did not bust down the gates. The thing that really made me sad was that a 90-year-old man in a wheelchair said he thought he knew what he was fighting for, but now does not.

In the link you posted, it was closed for the presidents speech honoring veterans. Unfortunately, security measures for any president require things like this.

The whole thing was so staged.. the republican congress members just HAPPENED to be at the memorial?? Yeah.. like they visit it every day to thank the veterans ... I am not the fool they must wish I was..

Not staged at all. The memorial was shut down before the vets got there - Truthhurts

The veterans were met at the memorial by Sen. Roger Wicker and Reps. Steven Palazzo, Alan Nunnelee and Gregg Harper, all Mississippi Republicans. Other lawmakers joined as well. Lennep said Wicker and Palazzo have met the veterans on previous trips.

Palazzo told the Mississippi Press of Pascagoula that he moved the barricades.

“We cannot deprive our veterans of coming here,” Palazzo said of moving the barricades. “This is their day.

Rep. Michele Bachmann was out walking in her shorts and long-sleeved t-shirt when she got a panicked email from another member of Congress, she said. She came to the memorial and began taking pictures.

Another lawmaker cut the tape, and the lawmakers escorted the veterans in, Bachmann said. Several lawmakers plan to continue coming to the memorial to ensure veterans can visit, she said.

I just hate it when people don't verify and just insinuate before posting.

Of course they knew about it, there are things called social networking and cell phones. - missy

Of course they knew about it ahead of time. They wanted to assist the Vets in opening up the barricades. It's something that was scheduled a while back and yes, Michelle Bachman knew that she would be there to see what exactly was going to happen. Maybe she was there to talk to the Vets and make them feel better about being there and possibly turned away.

their manufactured self-inflicted crisis. They looked straight into the faces of our nation's most honorable veterans and lied their as**s off. Ultimately they failed miserably in their pathetic efforts to throw the blame off their own shoulders and lay it at the doorstep of the White House. They did, however, succeed in exposing themselves for the congressional counterfeits they really are.

Why In The World Is It People Always Want To Dec 16, 2015
I realize that's a question with a wide range of answers possible. This town seems to have a lot of ghetto-y, trashy type people who always want to settle any type of dispute, no matter how minor,  by fighting.   Offering someone to  "square up" and beat the crap out of them. That's really going to prove or accomplish something?   Seems to me all it proves or accomplishes is that people are too ignorant or lazy to discuss facts in a reasonable manner, mu ...
