Why Oprah Has Hope in Spite of Trump’s Presidency

Posted: Nov 12, 2016

The last sentence is the best. “America didn’t stop being America last night and we didn’t stop being Americans and here’s the thing about Americans: Our darkest days have always—always—been followed by our finest hours.” (Aaron Sorkin) We have just gone through our darkest days and the light is about to shine on America again. Another rich celebrity weighs in - So what

We normal people are the ones who will be affected most by the policies of this country. Oprah would remain a millionaire if my cat got elected president and raised taxes 100% to buy herself some Sheba. You think Oprah worries about airport security when she has her own private plane? I'm so sick of people paying attention to these celebrities who threaten to leave the country or condescendingly pat the head of all of us poors and tell us it will be all right.

Most of the blue collar middle class people don't like - the direction of the Democrat Party

and their leftwing social agenda including women in combat units and transgendered restrooms, and their "white privilege" mantra turned a lot of people I know off, while the white Democrats provide cover for their own entitlement.

The proof in the pudding. Look how entitled leftist kids feel they are.

Trump success is also articulated in the fact that - conservative American

Republican voters have been slapped in the face for years by their embarrassing candidates who pander to the wrong crowd.

Trump was our knight in shining armor, who destroyed the GOP.

Republican voters feel our own party wouldn't even give us voice or listen. Trump is the best chance the silenced, overly mocked, conservatives have had in decades.
I actually feel sorry for Trump - Though not a Trumper

After reading your comments about how many Republicans have felt let down by their party and their concerns brushed away, I am understanding more and more why Trump was elected. But there is no way Trump can do everything that's hoped for/expected of him by supporters, and he's going to suffer for it. People are already criticizing him for consulting Washington insiders. What else can he do? I don't think Trump is evil and he probably is pretty bright, but he's completely out of his element in Washington. He is going to need some kind of help navigating his way.
Yes, he is refilling "the swamp" - sm

apparatus, And they own academia. They are an alliance of people that hate America, revile the constitution, and want all people who are patriots or simply don’t agree with them, persecuted unto death. The key to initiating repair of the damage done by them over the last century lies in the elimination of the filibuster and a willingness to discipline the federal judiciary.

Muslim much? - "Persecuted unto death"

[ In Reply To ..]
Your statement of "persecuted unto death" sounds like it was taken out of the Muslim handbook. The Muslims don't want to simply conquer us "unbelievers"--they want to kill us. You applying your personal religious agenda to a United States political party reveals who you really are.

Is a chameleon and a con man. He is already flip-flopping on his policies. Did any of you really believe he would build a wall, deport 12 million people, dismantle the ACA on day one, etc.? Stay tuned. The con man conned you all.

They say he was Democrat until 2012 - see message

He is already saying is not going to repeal Obamacare. What did they (pubs) vote for anyway? He has no intention of delivering any of his promises. What will the right do when they find out they fell for the biggest of his lies?

Operation Overlord, the most successful amphibious invasion in history, was in no small part successful due to the most effective deception and disinformation campaign in history. The key to the Allies completely fooling the Germans as to the real location of the invasion (Normandy) as opposed to where Adolf Hitler thought the troops would land (Calais)—thus meaning all the German generals who wanted their jobs had to think that as well—was the Allies knew what Hitler believed and just playe ...

took lessons from the past, sued early and often, and on Wednesday morning we knew who our new elected officials were.  From Reuters:  "Voting-rights advocates, along with the U.S. Department of Justice and some political party officials, tackled potential electoral problems early this election year. Judges blocked stringent voter ID laws, lifted registration restrictions and rejected limits on early voting. As a result, Election Day 2012 escaped the legal dramas of the past. While ...

“heartened” by anti-Trump protests, he was sending a message of approval to his troops. Troops? Yes, Obama has an army of agitators — numbering more than 30,000 — who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House. In what’s shaping up to be a highly unusual post-presidency, Obama isn’t just staying behind in Washington. He’s working behind the scenes to set up what ...
