Why I Voted Democrat

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC...

Why I voted Democrat:

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my horse.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq, I know the bad guys will stop being mean because they now believe we're good people.

I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years.

I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.

I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits.

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.

But mostly, I voted Democrat because my head is planted so far up my rear that it’s unlikely that I’ll ever hear another point of view.

i voted democrat so a lot of irresponsible men and women would have babies and have the government feed them and send their children checks, give their children free breakfast and lunch at school while their parents drive escalades and camaros!

I voted Democrat because - Old and Tired MT

I think it's great that the government keep promising those in the ghettos "free money, free health care" and other entitlements to keep them enslaved and dependent on the government instead of teaching them they need to be responsible for their own lives.

Bit racist there - NJ

[ In Reply To ..]
Free money and health care to the irresponsible ghettos dweller, eh?

Just because Obama isn't a perfect man doesn't mean I can't call something racist when it is. And your post most definitely is.

NJ
now who's being racist - dnh
[ In Reply To ..]
The previous poster said absolutely nothing about race, did it? You just read that into it by assuming she meant something racial by using the term ghetto. Ghetto dwelling is not limited to any one race although any particular ghetto area may have a predominance of one particular race be it Caucasian, African American, Asian, Hispanic or whatever. It is a complete mixture just like the rest of society.
Buzzwords - NJ
[ In Reply To ..]
No wiggle room there, dnh. When people use buzzwords that have commonly held connotations, they should take responsibility for that.

I know what was meant by ghetto and so do you and everyone else on this board. No specific mention of race is necessary. That is how the cowardly racists operate these days since they know their nasty little beliefs will be called out should they just spew.

It was racist. Dance around it all you want but that will only taint you, too.

NJ
sorry but I disagree - dnh
[ In Reply To ..]
We will have to agree to disagree on this one becaue I do not accept your interpretation. You have no way of knowing what was meant but are simply making your own assumptions. Since my city has ghettos in all differing make ups, including the white trash for want of a better word, I will continue to see the term in a different light than you do.
Nope, no hiding for you - NJ
[ In Reply To ..]
You are splitting hairs and shame on you for it. If you are not racist yourself, you need to at least call racists out.

NJ
I tried to be nice but... - dnh
[ In Reply To ..]
That didn't work, did it? Your true colors are showing, and it's not very pretty in my eyes. What shows is that you are the one who is racist and will jump to conclusions without knowing the intent or accept that there is even a possibility it may have been something other than what you think and you will not recognize anyone else's side but think you are the only one who could possibly be correct. Too bad for you. Your credibility just took a hit. And don't even think about calling me racist. You don't know one single thing about me, not the color of my skin, my ethnicity, religion, gender, orientation or anything else. Off to work now and then out of this country tomorrow for my daughter's wedding.
Shame on you - NJ
[ In Reply To ..]
You had a chance to stand up for what's right. You chose to play word games.

What a shame.

NJ
You're the owner of that award - NMMT
[ In Reply To ..]
All you do is play games with words and try to twist them to suit you and your twisted beliefs. The common sense and logical award goes to someone else. You are far from qualifying for that one. ;-)
off subject but..... - cj

Where is the wedding? Are you the one going to Italy? Have a wonderful time and wish them our very best. My daughter is also going to be married next week and we are leaving Sunday for St. Lucia for theirs.
Ghettos...sm - NMMT

Nothing racial about it...

Exactly - NJ
[ In Reply To ..]
Now, let's connect the dots. Whites are the majority in this country, so...nonwhites are the minority. Or do you think the poster was talking about left-handers?

I'm not surprised to see you spring to the defense on this.

NJ

The poster was talking about ghettos - NMMT
[ In Reply To ..]
There are "white" ghettos in this country. You play the race card because you tend to spuriously believe that homosexuals are a "race" of people. Laughable...truly laughable. You can't connect those dots and never will be able to. ;-)
Boggle - NJ
[ In Reply To ..]
Homosexuals are a race of people? Wow, you don't know what "race" means?

There are ethnic ghettos, racial ghettos, all kinds of ghettos, and the term ghetto here in the US is most commonly used to refer to black ghettos.

But let's pretend that the poster was using the term in some uncommon way. It was referring to an ethnic minority of some sort by most definitions, including the wiki link that you posted. Now, would you like to defend that?

Racist, racist, and more racist. True colors indeed.

NJ
A ghetto refers to a poor neighborhood... - NMMT
[ In Reply To ..]
regardless of the color of the people who live there. Put your race card up. No one wants to play with it any more.
Have to agree with dnh - gourdpainter
[ In Reply To ..]
The question of race never entered my mind until I read the post by NJ. Around here we refer to the "ghetto" as the "projects." Most of the occupants are Caucasian or Latinos. Now if she had referred to the "hood" I would have immediately associated that with race but she didn't.
My mother's home was in a ghetto and she was white - Old and Tired MT
[ In Reply To ..]
There were a lot of white people in her neighborhood who were always looking for a free handout, too. They were getting government cheese, welfare, etc., and were severely allergic to work. Where did I say anything about race in my comments? I would say that NJ is racist because he/she immediately jumped to the conclusion that I meant black people-- hmmmm. Who is the racist here????

If you married your horse - me

[ In Reply To ..]
the horse would still be smarter.

And WAY more mature.

Amen - lalala

I voted Democrate for NONE of those reasons. I realize its supposed to be tongue-in-cheek, but it's not even funny. It's just more word-vomit created by those that feel superior. Sad really.

I vote democratic because I am...sm - nosa

trying to save the country from all the loonies (including the ones that say they voted the democrat ticket when they really voted republican) who feel superior, and profess to follow God's word but are themselves unGodly in their thoughts and every day lives.
And what you wrote is why I didn't vote - me
[ In Reply To ..]
Because I didn't want to be listed in the same category as any of you whether it be democrat or republican.

You say the republican feel superior...that is what I see you feel about yourself by your post.

Democrats seem to have a chip on their shoulder. They think everyone who is a conservative is religious. They profess to be "for" the people but their actions show they are not. And when the elections go on each four years the democrat candidate does a lot of professing of religious viewpoints. They are no different than the republicans. They both act superior over the other. The only thing with the democrat is they have the elitist attitude which is really nauseating and I don't have anything stronger than Pepto Bismol here. Oh wait...I do. It's called the remote. LOL

Both parties are the same. Each side thinks they are superior to the other.

I vote dem - harley

[ In Reply To ..]
precisely because of the conservative condescension and disregard for others that underlies statements like this. I would be embarrassed to say such things or be associated with people that feel this way.

I DO vote democrat - Lisa

I vote democrat because...

Republicans...all they have are fears, smears and queers. That is the entire platform. Last 8 years that has been it. Conservatism?? Give me a break. GWB, Cheney and Donnie have been out spending my money like drunken sailors, for what? So they can line their rich friends pockets down at Blackwater and Halliburton. You and I both know if you go out running up your charge card you have got to pay for it sometime, boy are we paying now. These conservatives make me sick.

Boy are you way out in left field with that post. (nm) - nm

Did you hear? Obama is still employing evil Halliburton in Iraq and Afghanistan! You'd think Dear Leader would have fired such an evil entity now that it's HIS war. BTW, aren't we supposed to be out of Iraq by now? That IS what Dear Leader promised, isn't it? Hmmmm, maybe he IS a corrupt Chicago politician after all....
