Comey facing ‘three-pronged legal attack’ after Kasowitz’s detailed investigation

Lawyers for Donald Trump have been investigating potential leaks coming out of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including its former director James Comey, going back to at least March, as they prepare to take legal action against the former FBI chief following his bombshell testimony Thursday, FOX Business has learned.

During his testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, Comey disclosed publicly for the first time that he leaked memos about his meetings with Trump, alleging that the president sought to impede the FBI’s inquiry into whether members of the Trump campaign were involved in a Russian government attempt to sway the 2016 election and defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton.

With that, Kasowitz began planning a “three-pronged legal attack” against Comey, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

A key part of the complaint will be the notion that Comey and his senior staff have been leaking classified information to reporters and legal bloggers for some time; in the complaint Kasowitz is likely to cite alleged conversations with a legal blogger who claims he spoke with Comey about the conversations with Trump involving his investigation.

Comey raised eyebrows about his own conduct when he admitted that after his firing by Trump in May he leaked the memos to the New York Times through Dan Richman, a Columbia Law School professor. Kasowitz termed the move as a violation of "unauthorized disclosures to the press of privileged communication with the president” on Thursday at his press conference.

Trump, himself, has remained largely silent about Comey’s disclosures to the committee except for a single tweet on Friday, calling the former FBI director a “leaker” and that he feels “complete vindication.”

They take selective sound bites from MSM and repeat them here and have no idea what actually went on in the hearing. I'm pretty sure MSM did not use the video of Comey explaining how he "LEAKED" his notes to the press. I also bet MSM did not use sound bites or video of Comey saying under oath Loretta Lynch ordered him not to use the word "investigation" regarding Hillary's e-mail scandal and to call the criminal investigation a "matter" which he did.

Lefties only get 5% of the story from MSM and then they twist that to suit their agenda or intellectually they could not absorb the 5% they heard.

I believe nothing any political figure says.

But in the case of Comey, he testified he LEAKED the memos and he testified under oath Loretta Lynch influenced him to use the word "matter" instead of criminal investigation.

Facts are indisputable facts. Either Comey lied under oath or he did indeed "leak" information that he gathered while he was in the FBI to a liberal media outlet. He clearly stated Loretta Lynch ordered him to use the word "matter" instead of "investigation" when describing the criminal investigation into Hillary's e-mails.

I am not convinced wire-taps are imaginary but I will not believe it until there is evidence. I don't give a care about an estimate of crowd size. The only thing that counts which is indisputable is Trump WON the election.

What he leaked was not illegal to leak. He knows the laws on that stuff; you know, being the head of the FBI and all. It is apparently Trump who does not know what Comey can leak and can't leak, as we see by him pursuing a law suit. I guess as Ryan said, he is new to the job so doesn't know what he is doing.

I'm waiting for those "tapes." I hear they have a subpoena for them and have 2 weeks to deliver them. Let's see if there truly are tapes. As Comey said, "Lordy I hope there are tapes."

Had some of these posters actually listened to what Comey himself said, they would already know that Comey referred to "leaking" this information and clearly stated Comey was the source of the "leak". It cannot be any clearer than that. Also, the FBI has a very, very clear policy, which ALL agents had to sign (including Comey regardless of him being appointed Director), that states no work product is ever to be released. Comey entered his "musings" in an FBI owned car, on an FBI owned computer, documenting an FBI meeting.

Seems that because things did not go the way the haters wanted, they are making things up as they go.

Comey put himself right in the middle with his lying under oath and Comey behaving inappropriately.

Comey repeatedly claimed how he was "too weak" or "lacked courage" to say anything to President Trump. What the hell is wrong with Comey?? He has the full force of the FBI behind him. Comey is supposed to be chasing down terrorists and drug lords...yet he is too timid/scared, "queasy" to say to President Trump that Comey felt a few words were out of line?? Comey could not stand up to Lynch when Lynch obstructed justice regarding Hillary!! What the hell!!?? President Trump would have grounds to fire that idiot Comey for those reasons alone.
