"Todayâs Republican Party is more radical and extreme

Posted: Oct 6, 2012

Summary paragraphs from article in Kansas City Star:

" Norman Ornstein, a distinguished political observer and resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (hardly a liberal bastion) and his colleague Thomas Mann of the Brookings Institution have been studying Washington politics and Congress for more than four decades. They say they’ve never seen Washington as dysfunctional as it is now. And they blame Republicans.

“We have no choice but to acknowledge that the core of the problem lies with the Republican Party,” they wrote in the Washington Post in April. In their view, the GOP has become “ideologically extreme; scornful of compromise; unmoved by conventional understanding of facts, evidence, and science; and dismissive of the legitimacy of its political opposition.”

(Checking the source: What is the AEI that employs these particular guys, "hardly a liberal bastion"? This description from Right Wing Watch: "The American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) is one of the oldest and most influential of the pro-business right-wing think tanks. It promotes the advancement of free enterprise capitalism, and has been extremely successful in placing its people in influential governmental positions, particularly in the Bush Administration. AEI has been described as one of the country's main bastions of neoconservatism.")

That does seem to sum up most of the frequently (not quite always) *** Our little forum is also lacking representation from "a few rich people," of course. :)

Radicals and extremists in the democrat and republican parties is not a phenomenon. Been talking about the infiltration in democrat and republican party for more years then I can remember.

A phenomenon is an observable event or an object or aspect known through the senses rather than by thought or intuition or a fact or event of scientific interest susceptible to scientific description and explanation. There's more explanations, just let me know if you'd like me to post them.

Discussing who has infiltrated both parties is just not a phenomenon.

lots of people lack the historical perspective to recognize this - NM

To you who are so uninformed. The GOP or Republican party is more on the liberal leaning side. It is the conservative movement, the tea party, the bloggers, the people who are fed up with obama and his Communism that is upsetting people. He is lying and he is getting ready to transform America into another dictatorship. If you think not, think again. He is a Communist. That is all I have to say. He has put us into almost complete poverty. Not just of jobs, of gasoline, of not being protected on the foreign front, but of our very being, our minds. He is ransacking and mutiliating minds. Wake up before you lose everything. You cannot win with this thing lying and running around like he knows something. Read balances articles, listen to balanced programs. You are filling your mind with corrupt information. Get out of that mindset. It is killing you and everyone else it comes in contact. THINK FOR YOURSELF!!! If you want lower taxes, if you want lower gas, if you want jobs, if you want freedom to worship your own way, if you want freedom to choose your health care, it won't be voting for obama/biden again. Conservatives that are true conservatives are not the monsters they are made out to be, but rather they are being lied about. What is the tea party? it is made up mostly of older people. What are the people who demand the birth certificate. They are simply and only average people asking for documentation. If that is so terrible, if that is so bad, then shame on you and obama too. If you want Communism and the jobs to go then you will stick with this losing combination of obama/biden. If you want this country to flourish again, the people who are really trying to turn it around are the average citizen. So you need to vote. You need to vote responsibily like your life depends on it, and it does. Who is John Galt?

Thank you!!! I could not have said this any better - The Sarge - sm

It's hard to explain to people or reason with them when their minds have been poisoned. The liberals, and most all of them that post here are rabid haters spreading lies. It's hard to know when all the pure hate started taking over their minds, but the brainwashing from the liberal media is literally killing their minds. Unfortunately many of them do not think before they speak/write.

Thank you for your words. You summed up everything I and other conservatives feel.

If I could hit the "like" button 100 times I would - annieb

This is an excellent post. Very well put. (sm) - Texan

I pray people will listen. I try to tell people exactly what you said but I get so upset it's hard to do. I wish everyone could see what is so obvious to many of us, and vote like you said as if their lives depend on it - because they do. Have a great day.

I pray people can read your post and really take it to heart. - These are scary times.

Law School Asks Students To Choose âGodâs Lawâ Over Manâs LawMay 18, 2011
Just imagine if a Muslim school taught this in the United States. Instead, an accredited law school here in the United States is actively instructing its students to place religious law above the laws of the United States. Apparently, so long as it is Christianity, and not Islam, no one needs to fear. Late last month, after federal authorities arrested a Tennessee pastor on charges of aiding and abetting an international parental kidnapping, students at Liberty University Law Schoo ...
