So, take a guess. What is the community organizer going to do (sm)

...if the volume of people turning against him is greater than we know. I mean, really, some of his antics are completely indefensible. Even for the most liberal, one would have to question his loyalty to America. I would never rub someone's nose in it or say, "I told you so," and I would hope others would not either. We need to come together as a country and defend America first.

I agree with this, believe it or not. - He can't be defended anymore.

Loyalty? How about Muslims Infiltrating some of the highest positions of power - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
in our own government, including these positions:
Arif Alikhan – Assistant Secretary for Policy Development for the U.S.Department of Homeland Security.

Mohammed Elibiary – Homeland Security Adviser.

Rashad Hussain – Special Envoy to the (OIC) Organization of the Islamic Conference.

Salam al-Marayati – Obama Adviser, founder of Muslim Public Affairs Council and its current executive director.

Imam Mohamed Magid – Obama’s Sharia Czar, Islamic Society of North America.

Eboo Patel – Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.

Our own head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), John Brennan, is a Muslim convert.

In other words, in keeping with Barack Obama’s shady Muslim history, when it comes to Islamist raping, engaging in cannibalism, attacking innocent Christians and Jews, waging jihad on various world leaders and societies, the Obama administration gives them a thumbs up.

Didn't want to come back but just had to publish these facts. Do with it what you will. I refuse to argue with anyone over it and I'm not "staying" here now.

Have a nice evening.
And there are 5 Catholic men - who ruled in Hobby Lobby's favor
[ In Reply To ..]
Despite a predominance of scientific and legal evidence to the contrary. What's your point?

These men are not jihadists from darkest Yemen, they are Muslim-Americans, just like the Supreme Court gentlemen are Catholic-Americans and just like I am an atheist-American and Mitt Romney is a Mormon-American.

I do not know where you are getting this nonsense, but nonsense it is, so please know there is some shyster out there laughing all the way to the bank stirring up hate and no doubt donations with this garbage and there is absolutely not one bit of truth to any of it.

I do hope there are no Muslim-Americans in the ranks of MTs reading this, if so please know we do not all believe this garbage.
Like I've said before.... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess this type of post puts to rest completely the argument of "we're not haters." IMO, I see nothing here if not hate.

How would it sound to say, "I guess it's a good thing that Obama won reelection so that Mitt Romney and his ilk didn't take over our country. I mean, we wouldn't want Mormon type Christianity infiltrating some of the highest positions of power, now would we?" It sounds sick to me, and I just wrote it.

When, oh, when will conservatives STOP conflating religion with politics and judging others based on the actions of the far-right subculture of other religions? How would it feel if liberals whined incessantly about Christians based on the actions of the idiots who bomb abortion clinics and murdered Dr. Tiller? How would it feel if liberals labeled all Christians as pedophiles, rapists, and bigamists based on the actions of Warren Jeffs? How would it go over if liberals labeled all Christians as homosexuals and pedophiles based on the actions of some of the Catholic priests?

The poster won't stay to argue the post because this type of hate and vitriol toward the Muslim religion has no defense. Absolutely none whatsoever.

Nowhere in that post do I assume "all" conservatives are Christian; I have family members who are conservative atheists like yourself so I won't make the assumption that you were referring to "all" lefties with this post.

No, we lefties don't generally assume all conservatives are Republicans or all conservatives are Christians. In fact, I think it is accurate to say that many of us actually believe that some Republicans are RINOs and some so-called Christians are basically CINOs.

Hope you have a nice weekend.

Mormons say they are Christian - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (1995-2008), said:

“We are Christians in a very real sense and that is coming to be more and more widely recognized. Once upon a time people everywhere said we are not Christians. They have come to recognize that we are, and that we have a very vital and dynamic religion based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We, of course, accept Jesus Christ as our Leader, our King, our Savior...the dominant figure in the history of the world, the only perfect Man who ever walked the earth, the living Son of the living God. He is our Savior and our Redeemer through whose atoning sacrifice has come the opportunity of eternal life. Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints pray and worship in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the center of our faith and the head of our Church. The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ and witnesses of His divinity, His life, and His Atonement.”
Christianity denies Mormonism as Christian. sm - friendly atheist
[ In Reply To ..]
Mormonism denies the biblical truth of who God is, who Jesus is, how forgiveness of sins is attained, and what the gospel is. Therefore, Mormonism is not Christian.
They believe God used to be a man who came from another planet. Is that in YOUR bible?

Mormons can claim they're tree frogs if they want, but that doesn't make it true.

Really?

"when it comes to Islamist raping, engaging in cannibalism, attacking innocent Christians and Jews, waging jihad on various world leaders and societies, the Obama administration gives them a thumbs up."

Nope. They don't give them a thumbs up. They don't give anyone of any religion a thumbs up who does the things you list. The fact you conflate that list with the Muslim Americans in the govt and "Islamists" is simply inexplicable and completely unfounded.

It would be like saying all the good old Southern boys in the congress by virtue of where they are from and the history of those states are of course Ku Klux Klan, AND that the Republican party is giving them a thumbs up to:

Stop black people from voting, allow them to shoot black people because they fear them (stand your ground), and actually encourage their members to attempt to assassinate the African American president!

Should he send some troops over there? Just call them up and say go? Is that within his power? Aren't the pubs always criticizing him for taking matters into his own hands while Congress lazes around doing nothing and collecting a paycheck? Do you want him to sign an EO? (which, of course he can't--but I'm sure the pubs don't know that) What would you have him do? Is the USA the only country responsible for policing every evil government on this earth? Maybe he just just invade Russia. I'm sure all the warmongering pubs will be all behind that.

I am wondering why - The Netherlands

[ In Reply To ..]
Is not doing as much. We lost 1 American, they lost 150.

Why doesn't Europe make a stink for a change? Why is it always on our backs to start a war or aggravate one?

If it were 150 Americans who had their bodies stuck in trains for days and relatives found their credit cards being used by Ukraine/Russian thugs after they picked through their belongings, you can bet we would be on that, but Europe isn't even willing to up the sanctions, so why should we be fighting their battles for them?

Even most conservatives have had enough of wars, especially one so idiotic as this one to get involved in.

Europeans would rather - placate

[ In Reply To ..]
than fight back, as evidenced by the last 50 years or so, plus they get natural gas and oil from Russia.

I am fine with the fact - that the US

[ In Reply To ..]
is not blundering into yet another endless conflict without a thought as to what the consequences will be. Maybe if you think one person can make such a difference you should volunteer yourself, your loved ones, pick a side and have at it in the hot spot of your choice. I'm glad we're staying out of all of these miserable S--- holes, and if it's O's doing that we are, more power to him.

That's a good point; however, don't you realize (sm) - Callie

[ In Reply To ..]
that it's one thing to stay out of these conflicts when they are not within our borders, BUT the President should be keeping us safe from outside sources. He is NOT. We have no border. God knows who is getting in here. It's sad to think that we USED TO BE A LEADER and now we can't get "involved."

Should Putin be allowed to terrorize unchecked? - SM

[ In Reply To ..]
Should Putin and his henchmen by proxy be allowed to shoot planes out of the sky or shoot at military targets in the Ukraine? It appears the sanctions have done nothing but embolden him further. It would be nice to see the president in the situation room having a discussion with his advisors and other world leaders on what to do with Putin instead of off being a social butterfly at fundraisers.

Of course not - but why us?

[ In Reply To ..]
European leaders have lost their own citizens and are right next to it, why aren't they even willing to up the sanctions?

We cannot be the warmongers of the world anymore. War has eaten our economy and caused many unintended consequences and I for one think we need to stop being in the business of war which is only enriching people like Dick Cheney and impoverishing everyone else.

I said NOTHING about war. - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
I said it would be nice to see him in the situation room having a discussion with his advisors and other world leaders on how to handle this situation. I'm sure there have been talks and, of course, we won't know anything about that, but what we do see is him disengaged, uninvolved. That is my point. That is sending the wrong signal to Putin and thereby emboldening him.
How do you know he - has not?
[ In Reply To ..]
In fact, I'm sure he has, probably from the start of this idiotic nasty situation. But the days of us jumping in to world conflicts that do not have a lot to do with us are hopefully over.

I do NOT think Putin needs anything to "embolden" him, he's just like that. Kind of a macho jerk, but the conservatives do love that guy, right?

I do NOT see President Obama as disengaged and uninvolved, but again I think other countries have MUCH more at stake than we do and if they are not willing to even come to the table OR even speak up on behalf of their own people, no, I do NOT think we should stick our neck out yet again.
I think you need to re-read that post you responded to. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
She/he never said "he has not." In fact, just the opposite.
What exactly would satisfy - conservatives on this?
[ In Reply To ..]
Posturing and bombast a la John McCain? Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran kind of thing?

If I know anything about testosterone-fueled behavior (and don't we all over the years?), and we all know Putin has a lot of that, he will rise to the challenge like a bull to a red flag and the rhetoric will be ramped up and flying back and forth, which would NOT be a good thing.

Nope, I do NOT want any sort of intervention in this and I could not care less what might or might not embolden Putin. That's not our problem. It's time for other world leaders to step up since it is in their part of the world.
Answer to your question. - Person to whom you responded.
[ In Reply To ..]
This question is way above my pay grade, but I would not oppose helping to arm Ukraine against Putin and otherwise stay out. My only other answer is as I stated before, i.e., the president should not appear disengaged and uninvolved and should stop with the fundraising. Even those in his own party and his worshippers in the media are saying this.
Two things disturb me - Otherwise and Appear
[ In Reply To ..]
"Otherwise" stay out? After arming the Ukraine nationalists? That would be exactly what Russia is doing with the other side.

How long do you think the puppet armies would keep asking their sugar daddies for stuff before it would be a war between us and Russia, cold or hot? Nope, been there, done that, bad news.

The president should not "appear"? Really? So that confirms my suspicion that appearances are all that matters, and appearances, when one is of a particular mindset, can seem grossly different to different parties.

For example, all the "worshippers in the media" such as Andrea Mitchell, Tuck Chodd, etc., are really what they call beltway media. All they care about is the Washington, D.C., circuit and their coverage is tiresomely almost ALL about appearances, all the time.

Not only is it boring, it has absolutely nothing to do with what every day people care about or observe.

I have seen the president do speeches and press conferences. To me he appears fully engaged and saying things I want to hear (i.e. that we are not getting involved militarily and that Europe and other stakeholders should become more involved and support at the very least sanctions). So really I don't care what the beltway talking heads think at all.
It *appears* to me that you just want to argue. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I really don't know why you asked the question in the first place (other post) when you really are not interested at all in what a conservative opinion might be. You just want to argue. Although I respect your opinion, I definitely do not agree with it, and that appears to be majority thought process at this point, which I do care about. Maybe someone else will answer you and you can bait them along, but I'm finished here. Bye.
Bin Laden tracking during - Correspondent's dinner
[ In Reply To ..]
President Obama and the Office of the President, those that work in conjunction with coordinating affairs, were perfectly capable of attending a dinner, while thousands of miles away, the operation to remove Osama bin Laden was in process.

The government is more than just the President. It is capable of doing many things at the same time.

Perhaps the seeming aloofness is to signal Putin of his insignificance.
Excellent point! - sm
