Scott Roeder Found Guilty of First-Degree Murder

Posted: Jan 29, 2010

WICHITA, Kansas – Scott Roeder has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Dr. George Tiller.

The jury deliberated for less than 40 minutes before reaching the verdict.

In addition, Roeder was found guilty of two counts of aggravated assault for pointing a gun at two men who tried to chase him down out in front of Reformation Lutheran Church after he shot and killed Tiller.

I am so glad. Sentencing will be on March 9th.

He was asked if he had any remorse. He said, "No."

Roeder thought his superior morality would allow the ends to justify the means. It doesn't hold up in a court of law.

I think it is sad to think about the number of babies who never got a chance to be born because of Tiller. However, I can't support Roeder's actions either. I'm glad he was found guilty too.

James O'Keefe is not a teapartier, FYI. He's been released on his own recognizance.... - Anon

and the Washington Post has had to issue 2 retractions on the story in one day...which is unheard of! He did not impersonate anyone, didn't use false pretenses to enter the office, didn't tamper with the phones, etc. You might want to pull yourself away from Olberman and MSNBC and learn the facts of this case.

Biog history beliefs issues methods actions behaviors - suggest otherwise sm

Not surprising that GOP moderates, centrists, conservatives and teabaggers have all unified at the moment to summarily disown him. His affiliations tend to reveal what party loyalist turncoats would like to hide.

He describes his family as conservative and himself as a "progressive radical." Which party's furthest wing do you suppose he means? Who made him their hero? Faux news followers. Whose viewpoints are reflected there? Who promotes teabag causes? These are the ties that bind.

Personal recognizance? Rutgers University graduate. MONEY. Attended UCLA law school. MONEY. He was released on financial recognizance pending investigation and trial, not personal attributes.

Story will be around to haunt his fairweather former fans for quite some time.
I'm a teaparty member, and I haven't "disowned" him. Not at all. In fact.... - Anon

I think he's great. With the help of Hannah Giles, he exposed Acorn for what they are - a corrupt entity. More power to him, I say. And FYI, keep your eye on the news when the video comes out of his "crime." Bet you won't be crowing then....
Here's what REAL vote fraud looks like.... - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
In 2000:
1. Florida machine vs hand recount debaucle ala Katherine Harris that required GOP partisan State and US Supreme Court level institutional interference during the recount/certification process that led to sweeping electoral reform.
2. Ballot irregularities, including hanging, dimpled and pregnant chads.
3. Discounted votes.
4. Election machine problems that carried over into 2004.

The escalation in 2004 to:
1. Voter registration fraud on BOTH sides.
2. Purging of democrat and minority voter lists and the infamous "secret" list in Florida.
3. Dirty voter suppression tactics by GOP.
4. The misuse and manipulation of provisional and absentee ballots adding to the confusion.
5. GOP voting machine distribution schemes that mimic Tom Delay's gerrymander geography on a national scale, lack of security to monitor malfunction and manipulation, absence of paper trails and conservative party ties to CEOs of voting machine manufacturers and distributors. Diebold comes to mind.
6. Ballot irregularities including punch card problems as above and voters registered AND voting in more than one state.
7. Ohio recount and certification irregularities.

As you can see, voter registration problems pale in comparison to vote fraud, allegations of which against ACORN never quite panned out. Similarly, handing out advice on housing is not quite the same thing as participating in blatent fraud, i.e., talking is not the same thing as doing. Corrective measures have taken place and ACORN continues to plug along essentially without federal funding (which represented only 10% of their budget) and continue thier valuable charitable work to their community. They oppose predatory lending, promote affordable housing and living wages, education reform, sensible gun control and foreclosure prevention. They stepped in to orchestrate disaster relief and clean-up after Katrina when Bush and Brownie failed so miserably and participate in its aftermath planning, development and revitalization. Did I mention that the partisan arm of ACORN is perfectly legal?

In the grand sceme of things the pimp and his sidekick are mere 15-minute flashes in the pan. Your loyalty to them is impressive, but their tacky tactics probably will not help much in advancing teabag causes or their candidates. Now, if you want to get specific about ACORN corruption beyond voter registration (which I acknowledge), please do. Would welcome a chance to exercise yours points further.
Blah blah blah... you hate Bush.. so therefore, - the election was rigged...
