Right-to-Die bill faces key vote in California assembly

A California state assembly committee has a key vote on the future of Senate Bill 128, which would allow doctors to help terminally ill patients take their own lives. If approved, California could soon join a handful of states that would allow physician assisted suicide.

They take the death penalty off the table for Charles Manson and the like yet they allow the killing of unborn children. They allow illegal aliens to have sanctuary even when they are a convicted felon many times over and go on to kill. It will be interesting to see what goes down next with that godforsaken state.

As if California alone somehow invented that issue versus the landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade, which was a Dallas County case. My dad (rest his soul) knew both Connie Gonzales, the girlfriend of Jane Roe a.k.a. Norma McCorvey, and he knew Henry Wade, the District Attorney that "Roe" sued. Yes, little known fact that Norma McCorvey/Jane Roe was a Republican and a lesbian with a Mexican girlfriend.

News Flash: You might want to rethink your use of the words "mere mortal" to describe His Holiness, Saint Ronald of Reagan, since he helped make California exactly what it is today, what with his unwavering support of immigration (and I mean never, ever wavered, see link) and all those other facts about him that conservatives like to pretend never happened after they actually happened.

Here's hoping that this bill passes. It is unconscionable that the religious right demands that terminally ill people must have their suffering dragged out as long as medically possible.

Terminally ill and perpetually suffering people should have the right to chose the time and manner of their death, and to die peacefully, painlessly and with dignity. And the decision to do so should be between the patient, their immediate family, and their physician.
