Factually and logically incorrect - because he didn't

Promise "everything" nor did he deliver "nothing."

He is a hero to me for calling the GOP's bluff as Clinton suggested he should.

The bill passed on Oct 16 only funds the govt through - Jan 15th, and another sm

government shut down would occur on Jan 16th if Congress can not agree on budget deal. I think the Congress has pretty much surrendered spending to the executive branch.

Baloney. Dems surrendered to GOP #s - but

as usual, TPs refused to take yes for an answer. Considering the nosedive trajectory Congressional GOP approval numbers took, it's unlikely they will be willing to take that kind of hit the closer it gets to 2014 campaign season. They will be trying to turn the page.
It's now uncontrollable, no cap on debt ceiling and - Obama can raise (sm)

the debt ceiling as high as he wants. Bring it on! The sooner the horrors start, the sooner they’ll be over.
Com on do you REALLY believe what you posted? - If so, it is no reason you are afraid

You act as if ONLY certain Republicans in this country care about the debt, raising it, etc.

This was NOT a referendum on a refusal to deal with the debt - IT WAS Obama saying I will not be shanghaied by a rogue group in one part of the house in an back door effort to gut a law passed by Congress, and cleared by the supreme court.

If you think that liberals like myself are not as outraged as YOU over the debt you are mistaken.

THE DIFFERENCE SEEMS TO BE to my eyes that the Republicans will bankrupt us i order to protect the military budget- but will fight tooth and nails if the agenda is enviromental/infrastructure, or health care.

And by the way calling me a libby, lib, etc.? That's a badge of honor.
We've been in debt since WW2--for good reasons - usually. The actual numbers are phony because

national wealth has grown tremendously, gianteously, stupendously. Against that, the debt is bad, yes, but our national wealth keeps growing and as a whole our nation is doing VERY well.

Many of us are not FEELING this because in the past quarter century-plus our national wealth has been increasingly social-engineered into the pockets of a few. Including what used to be our take. Thus, half the country is feeling, not only not wealthier, but distinctly poorer than ever before. Also for good reason.

A clue for evaluation? ANYONE who says our country can't afford this or that, or even is getting poor (LOL!), is a no-good lying predator who is up to yet more of the same chicanery that's worked so well to build the billionaire class that was unthinkable before.

So far. We stopped this and turned it right around before. We can do it again. There are 300 million of us, after all.
The train has left the station, the throttle is broken, no - way to slow it down (sm)

End result is Congress loses all power to control spending, the president gains total power of the purse strings of America and the Constitution is no longer a viable document which most of us believe in. The youth of America (future generations) will be taxed into oblivion. Where is all the money going?
The lion’s share of American dollars (taxed, borrowed and printed) are going toward entitlements.

For the past three years, the federal government has not even passed a budget.
No, not half so hopeless. Our grandparents, and greats, - were here last century, and not only stopped
[ In Reply To ..]
the train but turned it around and built the middle class, and with it made the American Dream real. If they can do it for the first time, we certainly can do again what worked so well for so many. Before we let it be destroyed.

We outnumber our new billionaire class by literally thousands to one. Just as our folk did only 3 generations ago, we can use our vote to turn them upside down and shake our national wealth out of their pockets until we've satisfied.

Right now, the few literally OWN 90% of this country. That's not just wrong, it's not just bad for our personal wellbeing, it's antidemocratic and a danger to our republic.

Note that our grands and greats had it much harder. The wealthy were so powerful in those days and most so poor in comparison that they literally ordered the government to have federal troops shoot us down when we protested. We won anyway. Because we were the people who built all that wealth and, critically, used the power of our vote to cut ourselves a new, fair deal.
You're right. Corporate welfare is out of - control. nm

The R Camp Claims They'll Deliver Disaster Relief Via Bus.Nov 01, 2012
Maybe it's because it's already too late for them to upstage the National Guard, so now that the photo op has gone bust, it's back to BAU with last-ditch stump stops in Lean Obama Territories, which almost NOBODY is paying attention to.  It's all good.  Their decision to stay out of the way and let the big boys do their jobs is probably a wise one.    ...

Okay. Never Again. I Promise.Nov 01, 2013
I'm going to take a cue from that "young doctor" (who turned out to be neither "young" nor a "doctor"), and write an open letter. Mine will be short and factual, which is more than I can say for his. November 1, 2013 Dear President Obama Haters: I am convinced. Some people hate the President. Message received. Contrary to popular myth in some circles, the world didn't start to collapse the day he took office. Speaking for myself, I don't hate my President, and no ...

Though I feel sorry for the coal workers, they need to move on.  Coal is going away and most of us knew that.  It has to.  It is dangerous for our environment and dangerous to the coal industry.  As in the states that lost lots of auto jobs, they need to bring other types of jobs in for these people because it is not coming back.  Time to move out of the 50s. ...

Another Broken Trump PromiseNov 14, 2016
The beauty of Trump "policy"--You can just take a different side to an issue to suit whatever your purpose is whenever you want to.  Totally brilliant, don't you think? I am not sure what the religious right will think, though, now that Trump is distancing himself from taking away the rights of gay people.   During the campaign, Trump told social conservatives to “trust” him to oppose same-sex marriage, said he would “strongly consider” appointing U.S. Sup ...

Obama May Break His Promise On Iraq WithdrawalJul 06, 2011
Do you think we will EVER be out of Iraq completely?  Sadly, I don't.    Obama May Break His Promise on Iraq Withdrawal By Conor Friedersdorf U.S. troops were supposed to be gone by year's end. But the White House is now offering to leave behind a force 10,000 strong. During Pres. Bush's last year in office, he agreed to a timetable for troop withdrawals in Iraq: U.S. forces would leave by the end of 2011. The same year, Barack Obama insisted that if ele ...
