will take over the fight for our planet.

Leave it to the states is what the president says about a lot of things yet: "Trump has ordered a reassessment of national fuel-efficiency rules set under President Barack Obama and suggested he might take away the right of California and other states to set their own tailpipe emission rules. The president says the requirements are too onerous on the car companies and will kill jobs.

California leaders argue that consumers worldwide are demanding the more efficient vehicles. A return to dirtier cars will only hurt American car companies as they try to sell vehicles to the rest of the world, the state activists on the issue say."

I love how Trump said he was elected by Pittsburgh not Paris - and Pittsburgh said nuh-unh

[ In Reply To ..]
Mayor of Pittsburgh, Bill Peduto, pushed back as follows:

"Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto was furious at the line President Donald Trump said during his speech Thursday pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement.

“Couldn’t have picked a worst city,” he said flatly. “I was in Paris with 500 mayors around the world. It wasn’t only heavy on fossil fuels but it went through a depression where our unemployment was greater than the Great Depression.’ It was only when we started to look to the future we started to have an economy going up. Today, we’re back on a global stage, not through our old economy, through robotics and artificial intelligence and if it weren’t for that position Pittsburgh would never have been able to get back up.”

He went on to say that Trump saying he’s going to give coal miners jobs again are giving them “false hopes.”

“I know them personally. They live around my city. I have family that lives in West Virginia,” he continued. “What I say to them, look at the example what Pittsburgh was able to do. If there was ever a hope from the Paris Agreement in the example of a city, our air was so bad we had to have our street lights on 24 hours. We understood we would build out a new economy and it would take time. There’s nothing progressive about laying off a coal miner and a way to transition and understand as the world starts to finance new energy as the world finance banks understand that’s where it’s moving, the United States will either be part of that or we will be left behind and watch Germany and Southeast Asia lead the economic revolution.”

Also, BTW Hillary Clinton got 80% of the vote in Pittsburgh, so I don't know why he said that, maybe the "P" alliteration made him think it was a good pick? Well, that's just Pathetic.

We can see where false hopes and living in the past - has gotten MTs

Yes, it is sad for those unwilling or unable to change, but it is necessary to change. We are not going back to switchboard operators and horse and buggies, either. Time to get with the program and with the future.

We're doing fine on our own. We don't need the rest of the world - Truthhurts

telling us what to do. We are a free country but there are TOO many people in this country who feel they'd rather be dictated to and be told what they can and can't do by other countries every waking moment. When did people stop thinking for themselves and/or have a mind of their own? It's sad.

So far, I agree with Trump on NATO and the other countries paying their fair share and I agree that the Paris agreement doesn't do anything for us but we must pump all that money into this piece of crap that liberals believe is the end of the world if we don't. We aren't killing our children by opting out of this agreement just like we're not killing anyone by repealing a health care program and putting a decent health care plan in place that won't force monopolies.

BTW, already a few health care providers are talking about upping their premiums and deductibles again. Ready for it to happen again?
Well the operative term in - your statement
[ In Reply To ..]
is "decent health care plan" - that is not something Trump or Republicans have come up with as yet. I feel they won't because they are beholding to the big insurance companies and want more corporate profit than help for the regular working people!
Obamacare was OBama's gift (payback) to - insurance companies
[ In Reply To ..]
Trump does not need their money. Are you getting your ideas from MSM?
No! How about you? - You getting yours
[ In Reply To ..]
from alt-right conservative rags?
I get my ideas from my common sense and logic - Trump is a billionaire who financed his campaign
[ In Reply To ..]
He did not need to take bribes from special interests. Obama did.
Well what a coincidience! - That is exactly

Trump did not say he was elected BY Pittsburgh - He said he was elected to REPRESENT Pittsburgh

[ In Reply To ..]

I was elected to represent Pittsburgh, not Paris.

Big difference and typical leftie misrepresentation/spin.  Frown

Same difference, the point is he is NOT - representing Pittsburgh

[ In Reply To ..]
He is representing his base who actually believed he would make coal mining come back again.

He is NOT representing the majority of Americans.
Trump is representing the US including - Pittsburgh. He was ELECTED to do so
[ In Reply To ..]
And the left spin of being elected BY Pittsburgh is devious and typical of left losers.
Pittsburgh should leave the United States - and form their own country
[ In Reply To ..]
Don't like it, leave. Simple as that. Get your liberals together and make a plan.
Reprehensible attitude - DEMOCRACY
[ In Reply To ..]
Look it up.
Reprehensible lies from liberals. - Shameful!
[ In Reply To ..]
Spinning words, making up lies, speaking for others, pretending like you all understand the Paris Agreement and implications. All the while probably making minimum wage and transcribing/editing educated people's words and actions. LOL
Oh and what do you - make per hour?
[ In Reply To ..]
Where do you work that you are so superior?
Oh, go stand on the corner and wave - your flag, maybe somebody will
[ In Reply To ..]
honk or throw money.

It would be more patriotic than your don't like it, leave it attitude.
Who should stand on corner waving a flag - to get honks or money?
[ In Reply To ..]
If I do not like something I do leave it and standing on a corner waving a flag to get honks or money makes absolutely no sense.
I didn't get this either. Why should anyone - stand on corner waving a flag for honks and money?
[ In Reply To ..]
This was the weirdest post in a long while on MTStars. I tried to make sense of it by reviewing the previous posts and remain puzzled.
Well I tried flag for 5 minutes and nobody threw money - but a cop stopped to ask me why.
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess it was kind of bizarre but just wondered if the poster had a point to waving flags on the corner. Without a cause like a car wash or a holiday it looked kind of stupid. I have never thrown money at a flag waver on any occasion so the idea was flawed in the first place.
Your attitude is that you are more - patriotic and this is your
[ In Reply To ..]
country, love it or leave it.

I suggest you stand on the corner and wave your patriotic flag...it is as logical as the mentality of solving the problems of the country by telling people to like it or leave it.

I guess this needs to be more direct. I stick out my tongue and say, "you leave."
You stick out your tongue and say "you leave" - to who? Flag wavers?
[ In Reply To ..]
I don't understand the concept.

What I do understand is most normal people leave situations they don't like without someone telling them to wave a flag to get honks or money thrown at them. That is a stupid concept any way you look at it.
These low information Liberals do not speak for - Pittsburgh. Hell, a Liberal cannot form
[ In Reply To ..]
form one single intelligent, well-informed thought. Peduto is nothing but a tax and spend Liberal, wanting to penalize those working for the benefit of those refusing to work.

BTDW - Pgh has several agencies in place to help the poor and disabled, and they have been in place for decades. Includes everything from free food to health care and assisted living.

FOR THE FACT IMPAIRED LIBERALS, THIS SHOULD NOT INCLUDE ILLEGALS OR THOSE THAT CHOOSE NOT TO WORK. AS USUAL, LIBERALS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT...THEY JUST SPEW THEIR HATEFUL TALKING POINTS.
Amazing that people cannot actually - read and decipher meaning

It is obvious to me that the U.S. was to take the lead role in the Paris Climate Agreement in order to prevent the deterioration of the environment as industrialization and development of the past has produced.

The developing countries may "double" their use of coal, but they are not very large to begin with. This is a statistical anomaly that produces BIG impression, little effect. 2 is doubling of 1. Yeah. (e.g. rape in city doubled last year, went from 1 to 2). What you need to keep in mind is the size of the country and its use/production to begin with. Don't know that do you...neither does Trump.

Paris Climate Agreement was to try to head of disasters of developing populations like what has happened in China. It is to implement safeguards similar to what U.S. did that restored air quality in Los Angeles. And other environmental safeguards and practices that have developed since.

You people are foolish to think that this does not need to be done; and that it is all about coal jobs for 'Merica.

We could have been a leader, we could have been a standard bearer and an example, instead we are shown to be led by the fool and his foolish followers.

Disgusting.
Don't you get tired of throwing our hard-earned money - Truthhurts
[ In Reply To ..]
at other countries and getting nothing in return? You really think we would be the leader of that agreement? Look again. We are one of the countries, not the leader unless you count the billions of dollars WE have to fork over that won't ensure that other countries will even follow the agreement, like China. They don't even have to do anything for 13 years AFTER the agreement is in place. Neither do any other country. There is no way to police these countries. There is no way they will be forced to abide by the agreement.

Yet WE, the U.S., the CITIZENS of THIS country are terrible because we want to take care of our own instead of always being the "leader" of anything the U.N. says we are should do. We already give billions of dollars to the U.N., NATO forces, other countries...yet we're expected to do MORE? NO THANKS!

Wake up. We're going to be $21 TRILLION in debt by the end of this year.Yet liberals and anti-Trump people would be the first to scream if we had to add another $3 BILLION to the debt for an agreement that can't be enforced.
Nonissue - Statement not accurate

HUGE difference and Trump is elected to - represent EVERYONE.
[ In Reply To ..]
If lefties were intelligent they would see the difference but obviously they are lacking "skills".

Maybe he meant Pittsburg Kansas - we all know he can't spell

[ In Reply To ..]
and he wouldn't know the difference to begin with.

Maybe he meant EXACTLY what he said. - and maybe liberal spin is a LIE

[ In Reply To ..]
Of course Trump would know the difference. He traveled all over the US to get elected unlike Hillary who decided she was an easy winner and did not have to extensively campaign like Trump.

Trump was elected to represent the United States including Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh, Kansas.

Give it a rest lying liberals. You all are as deviously hateful as MSM.

The Pittsburgh mayor is anti-Trump all the way and he - Truthhurts

[ In Reply To ..]
got his panties in a wad just because Trump mentioned his city and not another "P" city. Trump NEVER insinuated Pittsburgh was dirty. Maybe the mayor likes to play dirty, but I think Trump was looking out for the citizens of Pittsburgh. None of these anti-Trump politicians know what's in the Paris agreement, nor do they know what has to be done to even sign onto agreements like this...IOW, it must be VOTED on by the REPRESENTATIVES OF THIS COUNTRY, not by the mayors, the business people, but CONGRESS.

Let all the other cities go right ahead and cut back on emissions. That's good for the U.S. but at least the U.S. won't be under the rule of the U.N.

The U.S. has done a great job controlling the emissions. LA no longer looks like Bejing (or whatever city has to wear respiratory masks to walk through the streets). Pittsburgh looked like China at the same time LA did, so a fantastic job was done to clean the air.

BTW, what do you do when the nuclear plants close? Exelon is closing Three Mile Island by 2019 because they lost money over the past 5 years. That's good. They should close down all of them. They are dangerous due to their waste and there's no way to provide safe places for the spent fuel.

I live in Pittsburgh and Peduto nothing but a - Liberal ass

[ In Reply To ..]
Peduto HAS NOT benefited Pgh. Before posting this garbage, trying doing a little fact checking. We are over run with illegals and lay abouts collecting every single entitlement they can get their hands on. We have not had to have lights on 24 hours a day for air pollution since about 1947. Pgh made tremendous strides, WITHOUT THE PARIS ACCORD, as have many other cities regarding pollution.

As usual, Peduto grandstanding Liberal with no facts to back him up.

You are certainly free to keep the Paris accord on your own - here is how

[ In Reply To ..]
when you pay your utility bills, just send double that amount to the unelected unaccountable bureaucrats in Brussels to spend as they please. As well, when you put a gallon of gas in your car, subtract that amount from $7 and send the difference to those bureaucrats in Brussels. Also, if any member of your family works in a manufacturing job, he/she needs to quit right now. You can do some research to see what other self-destructive sacrifices you can make for the EU elites, so they can have their extravagant lifestyle. Of course, china is free to continue to pollute as they please, as we continue to strip our nation of its factories and send them there. Of course, when we had manufacturing in this country, we did not allow our factories to pollute the environment, but china is not held, and will not be held to these same standards. WAKE UP!!!!!

California Prop 187 In 1994 LOST California For The GOPNov 07, 2012
red for Reagan and H.W. Bush, but NO more. California's gone very blue in Presidential elections ever since. For those who don't remember, 187 was an attempt by conservatives to deny schooling and healthcare to illegal immigrant children. It outraged MANY of all backgrounds, but it especially activated the Hispanics it was aimed at; and although it was later voided as unconstitutional, the damage it did to the GOP lives on. If no 187, we might well have woke up to a President-Elect ...

Obama Stimulus Funds Went To California Feb 20, 2017
