President Obama is organizing his campaign (sm)

again to help further his agenda.  Very smart on his part to take advantage of the loophole and make them tax exempt.  They don't have to pay their fair share.

Remember what I said about changing your moniker every once in a while does a body good?

Well, it seems that terms like "opposite day," direction to the Games board, and providing a link to provide some insight into what the original post was about is a no-no for the following reasons:

ACTION BY MODERATOR: Message Removed/Deleted

REASON BY MODERATOR: This post and every post following are insults. If you would like to repost the link in your next message, that's fine, but try to keep the insults to yourself.

POST SUBJECT: Is it opposite day? Should I change my moniker to posted on: 2013-01-19

and

MTStars moderator has recently taken an administrative action on your post posted on Politics board:

ACTION BY MODERATOR: Message Removed/Deleted

REASON BY MODERATOR: Insulting, as well as every post below.

POST SUBJECT: Is this what you\'re talking about? posted on: 2013-01-19

Anyhow, as suggested by the moderator, here's the link to what the OP might have been talking about:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/01/18/report-obama-campaign-to-become-nonprofit/

Sincerely,
Poster Formerly Known as Neener

well. that's really unfortunate - sm

if "every post below" met the criteria for insulting, it's hard for me to see how the original post escaped the ax. What a load of nonsense.

are we allowed to say that the OP is - NOT a proud liberal?

[ In Reply To ..]
or is the OP the only one allowed to be insulting? What a shame for this thread to have been plundered. Our right-wing posters often get upset when they cannot navigate the debates their arguments raise.

It's hard for me to understand why the original insulting post is allowed to remain extant in the face of the entire thread of responses having been deleted!

The funny thing is... I actually tried NOT to make it insulting. - Sarcastic, yes...

[ In Reply To ..]
insulting, no. I could have come straight out and called the OP a variety of different things for the "Proud Liberal" moniker, but I didn't... keeping in mind that a couple of my previous posts were responded to with an oh-moderator-they're-picking-on-me followup. I knew I was already attracting those who will report ANYTHING to the moderator, so I was making sure to keep it on the sarcastic/bordering on silly side rather than outright insulting. Opposite day is insulting??!? Unreal.

Anyhow, I do hope those who use a moniker (which I and I'm sure others do as a courtsey so a thread is easier to follow) change it up every now and again because there are those who will report anything to the moderator in the hopes of having your message removed or having you banned from posting altogether. I've been through several, and "neener" was relatively new too... that one didn't last long - lol.

it wasn't insulting... - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
left-wing commie that I am, I took your post as sarcastic on the silly side. It was certainly not malevolent, and it was a far cry from insulting.

How was the original post - insulting?

[ In Reply To ..]
Was it just the moniker that you objected to or the message?

IMO, as a liberal - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
If I were to start a post offering nothing more than a few sentences praising the president or a few sentences blasting a prominent conservative while using the moniker Proud Conservative, I can only imagine doing so for 2 reasons. The first would be to inflame (take note that the OP doesn't even come out and say what they're talking about or provide a link to the topic for discussion) and troll for negative attention, hoping to get a response negative enough that I can scream about how I'm being attacked, insulted, and bullied, report it, and satisfy any need I have to play victim.

The second would be if I thought it would be cute to try to trick conservative posters into agreeing with me simply because of my moniker and not for the content of my post. In this case, I'm assuming that they're dumb enough to fall for my stunt and/or assuming that they are merely cheerleaders whose beliefs aren't strong enough to tell the difference and they'll just agree with anyone on their team.

Sorry, but if anyone thinks that I'm dumb enough to fall for any of the above... it's insulting.

I'm guessing that the original post wasn't removed because it wasn't reported since most of the posters who were offended by it are grown-ups, follow the rules at the top of the page and have developed a thick skin, and realize that the post did not fit the description of the type of message to report (foul language, hate speech, threats of violence or personal attacks). BTW, the messages that were deleted didn't fit this description either, and the moniker Proud Conservative was used to let the OP know that their trick was obvious.
well said - sm

The handling of this thread was disgraceful, imo. Evidently, the only one taken in by the OP's stunt was the moderator - as evidenced by all responses having been summarily deleted. It's a pity.

If the original post is allowed to remain, so should the array of articulate rebuttals be.

Obama Campaign Selling Birth CertificateMay 22, 2011
President Obama's reelection campaign is turning a conspiracy theory that had long dogged the president into a snarky fundraising tool, selling merchandise depicting Obama and his complete long form birth certificate.
