Paul Ryan's 78 year old Medicare Mom going on (sm)

the campaign trail with him to Florida.  Woo-hoo - you Go Mom!

Look down the ticket....sm - JTBB

It's a pub theme now to stick your old mom in the public eye, because just surely they're moms wouldn't lie. Pretty crude if you ask me.

agree - a to z

Even cruder is that - Al Fabbet

he will probably still try to run with the "nothing will change for the 55 and over crowd" while showing off his "Medicare senior" mom who will be safe like them, further assuming that seniors are so selfish that they will just throw aside what they think is in the best interest of their children just so they can vote R/R. Seniors like Medicare. They're going to want it for their children (and grand/great-grandchildren). It's insulting for any of them to think that seniors will pick political party over family... pretty arrogant too if you ask me.

Yep...and if you look at what...sm - JTBB

[ In Reply To ..]
they want to reverse that Obama has done, it really hits seniors. That money the claim Obama "stole" from Medicare that really went to lower cost of prescriptions and preventative care that seniors are seeing now...gone with R&R. However, they will take that same amount and give it to the insurance companies. It will also negatively impact seniors if they somehow manage to kill Obamacare.

another thing they are using the money for - bootstraps

is to pay for the tax break they want to give the ultra-rich.
Got any proof of this? If not, I call BS - nm

They can still keep their Medicare. - Wish people would pay attention.

It's hard to argue with or be mean to.... - someone's mom! (s/m)

[ In Reply To ..]
It sort of reminds you of hiding behind Momma's skirt, doesn't it?

It doesn't seem fitting, to me, to use the tactic of having your mom in election ads to stick up for you when you're running for a political office that carries so much power, but I HAVE been seeing it done a lot more lately. Like so many things, one sees someone else doing it, and pretty soon it's an avalanche of lemmings following suit.

When you have your mom vouching for what a good person you are....well, duh! Even killers' and criminals' moms will say what a good boy/girl he/she always was....we all see the sweet child we know and love in our adult children. Those ads aren't very convincing, anyway; but I guess when you have oodles of ad money to throw away, you cover all your bases!

Pretty darn smart, if you ask me. - :)) - nm

needs health care reform. Just give 'em vouchers.

I guess you haven't read much about it. (sm) - Aunt Sue

[ In Reply To ..]
She is already on Medicare. She's 78. The R&R plan doesn't affect anyone over the age of 55 now. I don't feel like explaining the whole thing to people who refuse to research for themselves. You've been listening to Obama again. Tsk, tsk. He lies.
so this is what I don't get - bootstraps
[ In Reply To ..]
Why are they going to The Villages, a huge retirement community, to talk about Medicare if it doesn't affect them?

I really think both parties when addressing Medicare should be targeting the under-55 generationS.
In a nutshell? Because Obama and his minions (sm) - Aunt Sue
[ In Reply To ..]
are going around scaring all the old folks into believing that their Medicare will soon be gone if they elect R&R. He's a liar. In reality, they are in serious trouble if Obamacare is not overturned, or if Obama gets reelected. Medicare Advantage is already going, many doctors already won't take it, my husband's included, and that's a plan that many old people have.
Hi - bootstraps

I hope I am within the guidelines of this board to say this, but words like "liar" are confrontational (and not in a good way) and give me pause to think we might have a meaningful conversation or debate. "Not true" would work just as well and put my mind in a more open state to hear/understand what you are saying, then do some research about your claims.

I asked the question in all honesty, but I felt like you put me on the offensive when I read your post and for a second I wanted to answer the same way, but I wrote this instead.
Sorry. I just get so frustrated everywhere with the (sm) - Aunt Sue

blind loyalty many people seem to have to Obama. I apologize. Didn't mean to put you on the offensive.
no worries - bootstraps
[ In Reply To ..]
I felt the same way about the blind loyalty to Bush when they (including the Democrats), agreed to invade Iraq.
They are going to the Villages to address - the lies OBAMA has put out there about R&R Med
[ In Reply To ..]
Sad Obama thinks so the little of the intelligence of the seniors. Thank God Obama lies ae being shot down 1 after another.

She probably needs Medicare - as much as Ann Romney - and the hate of the rich starts

Obama solution - Deprive medical long enough and they all die.

Come on Jess - you KNOW how Libs hate - anything family-ish

One Of Paul Ryan's Best And Most May 27, 2011

Paul Ryan's Eyes -- Seriously....Mar 10, 2013
Am I the only one who thinks there is something seriously off about Paul Ryan's eyes?  Years ago, I read that when the whites of the eyes show below the irises, it's an indication of something--I can't remember quite what, but I think it was a negative thing.  That look has always given me a bit of a chill.  I believe some thyroid conditions cause a similar look, so maybe that's it.   ...

Also, Ryan wrote this: "Starting in 2022, new Medicare beneficiaries will be enrolled in the same kind of health care program that members of Congress enjoy." Paul Ryan - GOP Budget ProposalFeb 12, 2010
Cut Medicare and privatize Social Security. That's what the republicans presented. Let's hope we don't hear any more screaming about rationing health care under Obama, because that's what the republicans want, not the dems. I am amazed that they are not just sticking to NO. Whenever they come up with a proposal, it hits the fan. Like this tired attempt to do Medicare and Social Security in.  The good news is that there are a fair number of older people who are republi ...

Kaiser Study: Romney/Ryan Privatized Medicare Would Cost 6 Out Of 10Oct 22, 2012
From U.S. News and World Report: "Nearly six in 10 Medicare recipients would pay higher premiums under a hypothetical privatized system along the lines of what Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has proposed, according to a study released Monday.
