Oprah's interview of Sarah Palin brought her the biggest ratings in two years.

Posted: Nov 20, 2009

The Live Feed's James Hibberd notes that Monday's "Oprah" drew an 8.7 household rating and 13 share, the highest since Oprah hosted the Osmonds in 2007.  (Wow the Osmonds...cool.)

Our soon-to-be Vice President on 09/22/2008:

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened."

In case you're a little shaky on history: Hoover was President at the time of the stock market crash and TV was still experimental in 1929.

oprah has announced her retirement. Per Chris Mathews or Keith, she feels she has now DONE IT ALL.

That goes to show - people really do love her - just me

People who hate her with vehemence, but there is a large portion of the country that really love her. Way to go Gov. Palin! Keep'em hissing. LOL

Except that you're wrong -- "large portion"? - emanon

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Large portion equals millions of viewers (the largest Oprah show ever since the Osmands) And large portions means the millions and millions who voted for her.

The hatred oozes from this post.

Intelligence will tell the tale - 2010 yeah baby!

I think American people suffer from mental disorders. Otherwise why on earth would they continue the same "democrat vs republican" politics and expect different results? While I don't agree with any of O's policies once he got in office and the "real" change was apparent; he did not single handedly destroy this country in less than ONE YEAR. He just continues building on the foundation that has already been laid for the past number of years.

I don't remember all the noise about a third party being as loud as it is today. I remember it in the past with alternate candidates like Ross Perot, but this time it seems people have a new anger rising up in them that's stronger than I recall in the past.

The time seems ripe for independent candidates to run since many people seem to be unhappy with both sides of what we have now.

From all the hate on here, you would think EVERYONE hated her - I am seeing there are many who like her

[ In Reply To ..]
I have admitted to her voice being rather annoying, but overall, she truly seems to have common sense, something our president is totally lacking. I don't hate Obama like some hate Palin, I just think he is totally unqualified and clueless to be president. Is there one thing he has done so far that has helped the country? sure doesn't appear that way.

I don't hate her - gourdpainter

But I certainly do not think she is presidential material.

Not me. I was prepared to hold my nose and vote for McCain/Palin if Hillary was the nominee. Come 2012 for the first time in my life since I have been old enough to vote...a looong time...I may not vote at all if there isn't a viable independent candidate.

Unfortunately the "change we can believe in" is NOT the change I BELIEVE IN.
I agree with your comments... - just me

I definitely don't hate Sarah, but I don't love her either. She's one of those people that I can take or leave. She doesn't really phase me. I wish her well and good success. I do not think she is ready for the white house, but I also think neither is Obama. What I do think about Sarah (and this is a truly honest answer) is I think she is a very smart woman. Just because she couldn't answer some of those ridiculous questions thrown at her, does not make her less intelligent. You also can't say she's stupid because she got tongue tied because I have been watching Obama do the same thing as she did in some of his appearances (sentences not coherent). Anyway...I just don't think she is ready for the WH, and I don't believe there are many conservatives who do. We admire her for going through what she has and still able to keep going. She has some good ideas and she is knowledgeable about a lot of issues (energy, economics, etc) I think she would be good in a cabinet position, but not the WH.

Hillary may be smarter, but she is also a deceiver, liar, and I certainly don't trust her. Her actions to me have shown she is one of the few I believe like Pelosi, Reid and some others who just do not have a soul. They are the people who do not have compassion for the people of this country. Her record as first lady and senator everything she did was for her own power. I chose Obama over Hillary because he was a new-comer (sp?). He appeared to not have all the corruption that came with Hillary. It was not until later we found out that we were wrong.

I heard an interesting interview the other day (someone who had interviewed a lot of political figures Sarah, Bill Clinton, Obama, Hillary, Al Gore, and others). He said a lot of people don't know this but honestly Al Gore has half the intelligence that Sarah does. He said you ask him a question and if its something he didn't prepare he has no idea what you're talking about. Incoherent sentences, etc. DH then reminded me that is why Bill and Hillary kept him out of the spot light pretty much the whole time.
Well, everyone seemed to think Obama was - "presidential material"....and ugghh
[ In Reply To ..]
Sorry, but he is a disaster, and what bothers me the most is his judgment in who he appoints to help him. There is nothing about the USA that has improved with Obama in office. We just look weaker..and confused...and broke. So, you think Palin is not pres material? At this rate, I would give her a try. We are already in the toilet. She would be an improvement. -and she has more experience at running something. Obama's lack of experience is what made me always think he was NOT presidential material, plus his radical associates bothers me as well.
Presidential mateial - gourdpainter
[ In Reply To ..]
I think what we need is a person who is NOT presidential material....like maybe someone who would pay attention to government of the people, by the people and for the people with maybe a little honesty and common sense thrown in. This includes all members of Congress as well. Both Democrats and Republicans look out for their own interests NOT those of the people. Obama was my last gasping hope for "change." You know change in "transparency of the government, health care reform, etc." What we got was more of the same, just different players. This country is in a world of hurt and it has been coming for a pretty long time. With giving her the benefit of the doubt, has anyone noticed that Palin now gives more impressive interviews? Why? Because she has been and is being coached. Until and if the American people wake up and get over the "republican vs democrat" mentality what we will get is more of the same. Can't blame Obama for unemployment. Wasn't Bush the great "offshorer of jobs"? You know...the "global economy?" Didn't Clinton sign the NAFTA agreement? Has Obama made any effort to make it less lucrative to offshore Anerican jobs? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what has caused unemployment, which in my opinion will get worse before it gets better.

Who Had The Worst Week In Washington? Sarah Palin.Jan 18, 2011
In moments of crisis, great politicians rise to the occasion. Bad ones tend to fall flat.  Sarah Palin learned that the hard way this past week, when a statement she released hoping to quell the controversy that surrounded her after the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) only helped create a new and even larger controversy. At issue was a map that Palin's political team published during the 2010 campaign. It had cross hairs on 20 Democratic districts - inc ...
