This is an attempt to trump Trump. Trump and others have accused him of being too calm and too soft-spoken, so he is trying to prove and remind people that he has had a temper in the past --- perhaps before anti-anxiolytics?

Please, people, you must go with Rubio. Will the Republican party wake up and realize the joke is on them soon enough. The pathology of the Trump and Carson phenom must be revealed.

A robber had a gun pointed at him and he said that he told the robber, "You have the wrong person. You want that guy over there behind the counter" and pointed to the clerk. The robber then went after the clerk. This is not exactly heroic behavior.

Then he admitted this weekend that he had attempted to stab someone, along with other times he had lost his temper. This is who the Republican extremist crazies want with is finger on the nuclear button. The party needs to be disbanded before they get all of us killed. Bring back someone with common sense, not a carnival barker, not any of the other crazies. Someone sane. Or, just shut the Republican party down entirely.

He said in defense of Trump saying he was too calm, not passionate, lethargic, that (in a strange backward way) that he used to have quite a temper, had even attempted to stab someone with a knife, but not anymore....a STRANGE rebuttal to Trump's accusations.

Carson does not have a normal mental process. He may be extremely intelligent and socially inept. I suppose that is possible. I wouldn't want that for a president. He is condescending and has some really ill-contrived thought processes.

No, I think I understand him just fine....perhaps others are listening with some strange filter that lets him get by with this. Have you noticed the pattern of him having to re-state most of these little quips that he gets caught up with. The re-statement doesn't wash for most.

This was in his book, Gifted Hands. This happened when he was a kid, and he did have quite a temper. He had lost his temper when his best friend changed the channel on the transistor radio they were listening to, and Ben became so angry he pulled out his knife and fortunately stabbed his friend's belt buckle instead of his friend. Then Ben was so upset at what he had done that he ran all the way home and locked himself in the bathroom for a long time. He spent a long time in there asking God to take away his temper, and I believe his prayer was answered.

And yet he still seems proud of that stabbing incident and redirecting the shooter to someone else - He lacks common sense or decency but is book smart

He is still almost bragging in a swaggering way about how he tried to stab someone and how he was in a shooting incident where the shooter had his gun pointed at him and Ben Carson redirected the shooter to someone else to protect himself. Good heavens! That is not what we need in an American President. A little bit of courage would have been something to brag about, but not those incidents he seems to proud about.

I frankly think he is smart in spots. He is smart enough in book knowledge, but lacks common sense. You can't run a country and be leader of the free world based on book smarts. You need the common sense to yes, speak calmly and quietly as he does, but put some thought about the consequences. Example: If I redirect this robber to the clerk behind the counter, I am putting someone else in the line of fire, which isn't moral, and if I put a knife into somebody, they die. I don't care how much book knowledge he had when he was in school, they forgot to teach him common sense and decency.
