What exactly is the Republicans goal on this? Is there a particular charge they are making in their calls of coverup? Is the coverup in their mind Holder saying he didnt know about it or is the coverup something that supposedly happened during the botched operation?

This investigation has been actively going on for right at 2 years. Still, Holder states no one is responsible, and has been "caught" in several retractions and inaccuracies...fibs if you will. I feel the pubs feel "enuf is enuf" its time for some answers.

In perspective. If Holder was being truthful, it would not be difficult to find the answer to any question at any hearing in almost 2 years. Holder could have avoided this whole mess and spared the families of these agents additional heartbreak. The scariest thing of all is, whoever made these horrible, life-taking decisions has not been flushed out of the system and could still be making decisions that jeopardizes lives.

which does not examine any aspect of the operation prior to Jan 19 2009 is designed to warp any real perspective that could be gleaned from a beginning-to-end, bottom-to-top and inside-out look at the ENTIRE program....that is if your are truly concerned about "flushing out" decision makers who may still be putting lives in jeopardy. It's interesting that nobody is looking at people who participated in the program under BOTH administrations, such as William Newell, a key figure who served from June 2006 until May 2011, who ultimately went into complete denial that guns were ever allowed to walk into Mexico!

Why were no charges brought under Bush's watch? Does it ever occur to anybody that the corruption did not begin when Obama was sworn into office? This is the ATF we're talking about. Where was all the outrage before Eric Holder was appointed? Perhaps if there had been any concern back then, Brian Terry would still be with us.

I'm guessing the Bush operations you are referring to are operations such as “Wide Receiver” which were similar to Fast and Furious except for 2 things:

1)They were conducted with the cooperation and consent of the Mexican government (unlike Fast and Furious, where the Mexican feds were shocked when they found out about it)

2) They had goals that were clearly defined and easily acheived. Under the Bush era programs, after the guns were sold the criminals who purchased them were later cornered and arrested…the guns did not magically disappear. Yet, under fast and Furious, the guns were “lost” only to later be found at crime scenes, the criminals were never discovered, and this is all quite still a mystery.

I still think this was a stupid idea and I'm no fan of Bush, but the blame Bush thing is getting old.

If dems/libs so upset over Wide Receiver nothing stopped them from going after Bush his last 2 years and Obama's first 2 since they controlled everything.
