Obama's call to Bill Clinton shows his desperation.

Posted: Jul 30, 2012

Which, of course, if the country has any sense at all, he won't be.

Polls showing dead heat or even Obama ahead are wrong.  Romney will win this walking away.

Clinton speaking at the convention and being the one to officially nominate Obama for reelection is awesome. It shows solidarity of the democratic party.

Meanwhile, at the republican convention, Bush's whereabouts will be unknown, and Cheney will be gone fishing....LOLOL

You really don't understand politics do you? - Obama's trying to ride Clinton's coattai

[ In Reply To ..]
It's not uncommon at all for former Presidents and VPs to skip conventions, one reason being that their presence vastly complicates the security situation. Sometimes they speak remotely via big screen.

Nice try, though!

If Bush and Cheney showed up...sm - JTBB

[ In Reply To ..]
it would definitely get complicated, but not because of security. I wish Bush would show up on a big screen...lolol.

I have no idea what Fox is telling you, but the fact of the matter is that Romney needs to distance himself as far as possible from Bush and Cheney, who only serve as reminders of a failed presidency.

He's reminding us of how well democrats' economic policies worked - B4 the obstructors showed up in DC

[ In Reply To ..]
Nobody better than Clinton to point out the devastating consequences we've all paid for McConnell's vindictive "one-term-president" priorities....in terms even cons can understand.
You mean reminding us of how well things worked when everyone in DC - worked together?

Working with the republican congress, welfare reform, tax decreases, decreased government spending, "the days of big government are over."

It's a pretty risky move, especially since Clinton did everything Obama didn't. People might remember that, plus all the negative things Clinton said about Obama when he was running for president against Hillary. One thing is for sure, he'll draw a crowd - people still love him. I'll be home watching football - much more entertaining than the circus the whole convention has turned into, for either party.
No more risky than sending a culturally challenged - 2-left-footed bozo on an overseas gaffefest.
[ In Reply To ..]
What people will remember are the stark contrasts between who inherited what, and the difference between working with pols who maintained a sense of their own political vulnerabilities versus ones who were willing to hold Congress hostage, grind progress to a halt with two years of nonstop filibuster fecklessness, and tank the economy for the expressed purpose of unseating a duly elected president who won by a more-than-comfortable 10-million vote margin. Clinton will make sure of that. Wouldn't be surprised if he presents a veritable treasure trove of evidence to illustrate these points.

Rumor has it that payback can be a real bitch.
No more risky than............ THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. - Like, like, like! sm

You hit the nail right on the head!!!

Mitt is probably not a bad guy, just should not be president. But, remember who was leading the Republican party for nomination in October last year?? Herman Cain!! Romney definite should distance himself from that, George Bush, Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, and the list goes on.

I wish someone would point out exactly what has been happening in Congress the last couple of years and let the American people know where the problems really lie. I wish Obama would run campaign ads with George Bush repeatedly on TV saying, "The American economy is strong." I wish Obama would set the national debt record straight so people would not act like this was just created. Every one knew how much it was going to have to grow when Bush left office. Again, Mitt is probably a good business man and would probably be an excellent financial adviser. President? No. That's all the Republican party had that would not cause them even more embarrassement than they had already created for themselves.
Now I think YOU'VE hit the nail on the head! - (see message)

By George, I think you've got it!! Romney was definitely the "least embarrassing" candidate the GOP put out there this time. A few of them were not in the category of Cain, Palin, and Trump but were just dull and uninspiring; and I don't think "inspiring" is a bad thing for a president to be, especially in trying times.

I agree--it's not that Romney is a "bad" man and might be great in business. He's just not right for President of the United States. And, no--I do NOT want my country to be run like a business. Churches should be churches; businesses should be businesses; schools should be schools; and countries should be by, of, and for the people--ALL the people.
No, thank you for such enthusiastic support. - sm

I agree with everything you said, even the part about Romney being a good guy who shouldn't be president. After all, he gave us Obamneycare.

As a matter of fact, now that W is out of the political picture and safely tucked far away from weilding any significant power, clearing backwoods brush in Crawford (when he's not crawling in and out of swamps and promoting his SMU Presidential Library and Museum, LOL!), I have to admit my view of him as a regular human being has softened considerably. Nothing could have surprised me more, considering I had to suffer longer than most under his reign down here in the Lone Star, when he was Governor Gulag.

He's like Perry, one of those vestigial cowboy caracitures who never should have left Texas yet, for all his failings, somehow has managed to become stragely endearing. It reminds me of my hate-love relationship to country music. In younger days, while trying to be cool and hip, I rejected it outright and mocked it relentlessly. Then one day when I was in my mid 30s, while riding down a remote highway inspecting scenic bluebonnet trail back roads, I found myself tapping a boot-shackled foot and bobbing a Gaucho-bedecked noggin to the rhythm and twange of Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard's Pauncho and Lefty....and it was all downhill from there! It felt good to be released from the confines of adopted identity/dress-up images and to embrace cultural roots that inevitably become engrained over time.

I have faith (or at least hold out hope) that the Obama camp will be taking you up on some of the awesome messaging suggestions you made, and that Clinton will prove adept at packing a forceful punch when it comes his time to speak.

Waiting for GOP to embrace Ws reign and to see if - Palin ever gets a role to play.

Hopefully Cheney won't sink a 4X strength treble hook into his buddy's jugular. Maybe he'll play it safe and stay in his bunker with his binkie pulled up over his head for the duration, hugging his duck decoy and longing for the good ole days.

Cheney gone fishin... - as long as it's in this country...

Either one of them steps foot outside the country and they'll be apprehended and tried for war crimes at the Hague.

Ah, yes. Freedom, neocon style. - Thanks for the reminder. nm

You are right...Obama desperate - Liberty

[ In Reply To ..]
Yup, Obama is desperate for sure. I wonder what was said between Obama and Clinton...especially since it wasn't too long ago that Clinton praised Romney for his business skills. I'll bet that really made Obama mad, and now he has to ask Clinton to help him out.

Romney all the way!!! Yeah! Romney!

Thank you.

After Mitt's magical moonwalking tour, how much - praise do you suppose

[ In Reply To ..]
Clinton is heaping on Romney for his skills as a diplomatic strategist, Commander-in-Chief, campaign organizer, or presidential wannabe? Obama knows exactly what he's doing, and so does Clinton. Two of the most skilled orators of our times together on the same stage, poised to pounce all over Mr Bean and his party of 8 more years of W-style pandering to the ubers, decimating the middle class and bankrupting the country. I doubt the president is spending much time "getting mad." He's got his eye trained squarely on the ball, right where it belongs.

You're welcome.
