My thoughts non jobs and hiring. sm

Posted: Jun 3, 2012

A while back president Obama proposed a small business hiring income tax credit.  Since it still hasn't been voted on, I think small businesses might be holding off on hiring waiting for it to pass so they can take advantage of the credit.  What do you all think?  I am going to write my congressmen and tell them to get this bill on the fast track now when we need it the most.  I think that this is a bipartisan issue that everyone should be able to agree on.

The Republicans will block anything that will improve the economy - Just saying

[ In Reply To ..]
If there is a small chance that it will make Obama look good, Boehner, Cantor, McConnell will slow it down block it. Doesn't matter if it would be good for the country, the economy, etc. They want Obama out so they can return to the free-for-all of the Bush years. We need to vote out the Conservative Republican T-partiers and put some reasonable people back into Congress so some positive action will be done again.

Another brainwashed liberal media talkiing point - Complete and utter rubbish - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
Enough with the pity party, oh poor Obama they will block everything if it makes him look good. Man that really ticks me off. Has the liberal media really brainwashed people that much.

Look, politicians are adults. There are issues they vote for or against. Depending on what the outcome is. If Obama wants to pass some socialist issue, but it means the people in the country will have to pay for it and it won't make our lives any better, you can bet your bippy the republicans will vote against it and rightly so. They are doing the right thing. Just because you don't like that republicans don't agree lock, stock, and barrel at every single incy thing Obummer does. And since his ideas he is trying to put into place are socialist ideas I say GOOD FOR THE REPUBLICANS to vote it down. That is not what our country is founded on. Anyone who wants socialism so much I'm sure people would be willing to take up a collection to give them a free trip to a country that does support socialism. And guess what, those people living there will be more than happy to take whoevers place so they can get out of socialism. Every time a democrat has been in office me and my friends suffer economically. Our taxes go up, we have less money, no savings, no vacations, no nothing. More unemployment, more foreclosures, no hope for a future for our kids. Then a republican gets in and things improve. Our taxes go down, we start to build a savings, and look forward to a future. Then a democrat gets in and it deteriorates again. I'm not the only one in this situation. I hear it from friends and family all over the country.

I'm sick of the childish mentality that republicans won't vote for anything if it makes Obama look good. They are not 12 years old, like the mentality of that kind of statement.

Look, both republicans AND democrats don't want the other side in. But I also have confidence that the republicans are doing the right thing. They are voting on issues based on facts, not childish nanny nanny boo boo principals, which is what your post reminds me of.

Yes republicans want Obama out, just like DEMOCRATS WANTED BUSH OUT!

Your post is what is wrong with the country. We don't need to vote out one party (always the party you hate), but rather we need to vote out certain individuals. We need a two party system. What, you want it all democrats forever and ever, never a republican in office? That is just completely assenine. Do you even understand politics and why we have a two party system. Do you prefer the country to be like Cuba or Venezuela. Sure, get all democrats and only democrats. Then who cares how they vote. Who cares that they raise your taxes so high you can't afford food. Who cares that you can't get involved in the political process. Soon if you don't agree with every single thing they say you'll be brought in for questioning. You see that's what happens when you turn over the country to just one "club". And guess what...you aint in it.

We need balance in our government. That is why we have two and more parties.

Instead of saying vote out all republicans a more appropriate term would have been vote out the individual people who are not helping the country, who are profiting and getting rich while screwing the people in the country. However, if you do that then the majority of people voted out would be democrats.

I have enough faith in some of the republicans that they do what is best for the people of the country and trying to get the economy back. Something Obama is not interested in. If you've been living under his regime the last 3 years you will know this.

Get a grip people. Thank god congress isn't 12 years old.

Your post might have been worthwhile if you had actually addressed the specific bill in question. The original post was not a partisan slam, but rather a thoughtful contemplation on why we can't get a bill passed that would provide tax relief to small businesses - thus empowering our economy and our society. How could you have a problem with that?

I will now address the OPs message and you can see my response to her message in my other post

Actually, I did not ask why you did not address the OP's question. I only said your post might have been worthwhile if you had. It's so sweet how you miss stuff like that.

money. These dems/libs boohooing talking points is SOOOOOOO old. Why do dems/lib NEVER mention the 30+ bills passed by the Republican House for everything from jobs bills, tax reform, health reform, tax credits for poor - Only to have REID (Democrat) REFUSE TO BRING IT UP FOR A VOTE. Reid has already stated he will not EVEN READ the dam bills, let alone open them up for a vote. What do you call that? Certainly not biparisanship and Obummer never says a word. Princess Pelosi during her reign of terror in the House did exactly the same thing with any proposed bill by a Republican and had the support of Reid and Obummer. The hypocrites on this board never opened their mouth about the endless blocking, or ever worried about the unemployed or poor then, simply because it came for a Repub.

Too bad for the brainwashed dems/libs, the American people are far more intelligent than the Dems/Libs believes them to be and our memories far surpass that of the Dems/Libs.

Took me awhile to find some of this info you spoke about. I'm not sure how far a "while back" is. I've been searching and searching, but not seeing anything except recent requests from him. Do you know when he originally presented the idea? I am seeing articles that he is now presenting the idea, which doesn't surprise me since he wants to be re-elected.

Regardless of his motives my opinion is that this is a good thing. I'm reading an article titled Obama urges congress to take action on his jobs bill. Wait, wait, searching as I'm writing and I see an article from 09/11 that he sent a jobs bill to congress. It's an article by Fox and it looks favorably towards Obama, which I wouldn't expect differently since when Obama does something good, they always give him credit.

I hope his proposal is passed if the details of it are good for the country (I'll have to read the guts of it to find out if it is, right now don't have time to look or read through it. Will do that this week).

Kudos to Obama if a bill is passed that gets Americans back to work. It's something we have needed for the past 3 or more years. I wish it would have been done after he was put into the position the last time, but anytime Americans can get back to work is a good time. Even if it is right before he wants to be re-elected.

I do agree with you. It's always a good thing if Americans can get jobs. Don't care who is president or who is in congress. Unemployment needs to be fixed. Whoever can fix it should get the credit.

If it was Obama's idea, the republicans will - sm

[ In Reply To ..]
do everything they can to see that it never passes.

You're right about it being a bipartisan issue that everyone should be able to agree on, except that since the day Obama was inaugurated, republicans like Mitch McConnell, etc. said all they cared about was seeing to it that Obama fails and that he be a one-term President. They've also made clear through their speech and actions that their loyalties lie with the richest of us and those of us who want constant, continuous war. I think there is no more "bipartisanship" existing in this country today.

This post is so far off it - passes for comedy

[ In Reply To ..]
but no content. Yeah...like the Dems never want to remove the other side from office. Wake up and read some history; has been going on for years. Yeah for Mitch McConnell - He saw this Obama goof for what Obama is, incompetent, a liar, inexperienced, socialist, economically ignorant, deceitful, stupid, rude, arrogant, hardheaded...and the list goes on.

P.S. Pretty sure you missed the Obama photo op during the health care garbage where Obama brought the Repubs for an televised "discussion". Watched all 7 hours. Obama told them HE WOULD NTO CONSIDER ONE PROPOSAL BY ANY REPUBS. Yeah, Obama interested in compromise, big, fat NOT. Before it was over, Obama got up in the middle of a Repub addressing him, and just walked out of the room. Obama totally classless and rude hack.

Actually, it is true. Consumers are the main - drivers of our economy SM

[ In Reply To ..]
and when they are spending, businesses are producing more and hiring more. Corporations are sitting on 2 TRILLION right now. If they would invest this money IN THIS COUNTRY, more people would be hired and consumer spending would increase. Questionable why they are sitting on this money Some economiasts think there are some who are hoping on a Romney presidency which will put policies in place to favor them (deregulation, taxes, etc), so they are waiting. When all else fails, there is a third prong Government stimulus. This happened but it was not enough. When the obstructionists in congress refuse to do anything at all that would help the economy get on its feet (because credit would go to Obama, and this is not what they want) then we are stuck where we are today, stalemate. Of course both parties want their party in favor, but what is going on now is unique, it is premeditated, and it seems to be working out for them. Those in our country who are not informed about how things work end up blaming Obama even for high gas prices (come on). If you spend money to run ads over and over and over again with the same misinformation, eventually those ill-informed people start to believe it (proven social science studies). The republican policies are not going to help the majority of the people in this country (Bush policies)but I guess there are enough people who vote against their economic interests that this will probably work. If you look at the congressional voting record (or lack thereof due to filibusters and such) you will see clearly that republicans will stop at nothing now to prevent anything that would help Americans better their lot in life. It is true and those saying it isn't are not being honest. If you look at Obama's record regarding wall street, wars, he is anything but a socialist. Just a buzz word that seems to work on the ignorant among us (ignorant meaning not informed).
This could be me talking. - It's reassuring to see
