Judge seeks middle ground in Fast and Furious lawsuit

Posted: Jul 8, 2014

5/5/14: A federal judge said Thursday she’s inclined to split the difference between Congress and the White House in a lawsuit stemming from President Barack Obama’s decision to shield some Justice Department records from a House probe into the flawed gunrunning investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious.

Last year, the Obama administration asked Jackson to throw out the lawsuit, arguing that the dispute was not an appropriate one to be resolved by the courts. She ruled to the contrary, allowing the case to go forward.

The Justice Department asked to appeal that decision immediately, but the judge declined to authorize the appeal. The administration will be able to appeal once the judge makes a final ruling in the case.

This flawed, feckless, fiasco-ridden administration needs to be held accountable. I know it will happen one day, but the sooner the better in my book.

This regimen is hoping that "transparency" - thing still works, and it

does for some, but many people living in this country are waking someday and getting their news from alternative sources, many not from this country, and finding out what's really going on. Unfortunately, it will be too late. We're already turning into a third world country.

Many are waking up to the glaring hypocrisy of - "reducing the influence of money

in politics" they preach. Research some of the big names that donate to them.

Like Obama giving waivers on ACA for his buds, - like the unions. SM

There is no such thing as a waiver. It’s a promise to not prosecute for violation of the law, which in illegal and constitutes selective enforcement, rendering the law invalid and without force.

Ask the ACLU.
You have to be in the "loop" to get a waiver, - which I am not. NM

Fast And Furious Report:Sep 19, 2012
How can a report be neutral if the IG works for the DOJ? They state the reason, but we will just have to wait until others read the 500-page report and report the details. I downloaded the report but won't have time to dig into it today. There is no evidence that Attorney General Eric Holder and high-ranking officials at the Justice Department knew that guns were allowed to “walk” during an ATF operation known as Fast and Furious, according to a report released on Wednesda ...

Eric Holder/fast And FuriousOct 04, 2011
Documents obtained by CBS News prove that Holder had been receiving regular briefings on the botched sting operation as early as July, 2010. This revelation runs directly counter to testimony that Holder gave before a Congressional committee in which he claimed that he had no knowledge of the scandal before the press broke it.  Seems to me like Eric Holder may have bitten off more than he can chew on this one.  Curious to see how this plays out. ...

Media Matters In Cahoots With DOJ Over Fast And FuriousSep 19, 2012
The Daily Caller obtained multiple emails sent in September and November of 2010 showing Holder's Justice Department communications staff in cahoots with Soros funded left-wing reporters at Media Matters. Apparently Media Matters worked with Holder's press defenders to head off any negative stories about Operation Fast and Furious launched in the fall of 2009.  Dozens of pages of emails between DOJ Office of Public Affairs ...

Justice Dept. Turns Over More Than 64,000 Pages Related To Fast And FuriousNov 05, 2014
This caught my eye last night, but there was too much good stuff going on to post this. To me, the most telling sentence is: "In total, 64,280 pages arrived on Capitol Hill — all material that had been withheld from Congress by President Obama, who used executive privilege to keep the information from lawmakers." Now that the obstructionist Democrats are no longer in power in the Senate, maybe we can get some closure to all these scandals and hold people accountable for this, for Be ...

ATF Speaks Out On "Fast And Furious"Jun 27, 2012
An investigation by Fortune magazine reveals that the ATF never intentionally allowed the “Fast and Furious” guns to fall in the hands of a Mexican cartel, and it questions the credibility of the original whistleblower. “Nobody disputes that suspected straw purchasers under surveillance by the ATF repeatedly bought guns that eventually fell into criminal hands. Issa and others charge that the ATF intentionally allowed guns to walk as an operational tactic. But five law-enf ...

FCC Chief Seeks Broadband Plan May 29, 2015
For 30 years, the federal government has helped millions of low-income Americans pay their phone bills, saying that telephone service is critical to summoning medical help, seeking work and, ultimately, climbing out of poverty. Now, the nation’s top communications regulator will propose offering those same people subsidized access to broadband Internet. On Thursday, that regulator, Tom Wheeler, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, will circulate a plan to his fellow commission ...

Hillary Clinton Seeks U.S. Presidency -- Three Reasons To Say 'No'Apr 14, 2015
No doubt, millions will discard objectivity and project their hopes for the future on the public persona of Hillary Clinton, as it will be carefully constructed by professional political strategists and public relations experts, all funded by the billion dollars plus that the Clinton brand will attract through its fundraising apparatus. Those who are more sober and reflective in their political judgments should consider the following three points I raise as reasons to be wary of a second Clinton ...

Trump Seeks DHS Records On Border Barriers, SurveillanceJan 03, 2017
(REUTERS) In a wide-ranging request for documents and analysis, President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team asked the Department of Homeland Security last month to assess all assets available for border wall and barrier construction. The team also asked about the department’s capacity for expanding immigrant detention and about an aerial surveillance program that was scaled back by the Obama administration but remains popular with immigration hardliners. And it asked whether federal ...

My grandchildren by my daughter are very intelligent and well-behaved children.  I am very proud of them.  They receive discipline when they need it from their parents, and have been taught to be very respectful.  I spend a lot of time with them, and know them well.
