"got it" with the Confederate flag issue.

The NFL is the epitome of the 1% and the wannabe followers in this country. Their burying the issue of TBIs, their racism, sweeping under the rug all of the atrocious felonies of multiple players, including abuse of women, their rah-rah macho advertising...I hope they crumble and die. Stupid game, stupid followers...another excuse to get drunk and eat...the favorite American pass-time...so long as you've got yours, the rest of the America is INCONSEQUENTIAL.

I don't think it is right to be removing war statues but don't agree with the white supremacists views of the world who are protesting it. I think everybody's life matters, including cops. The problem is we have too much extremity in this country.

It is part of our history and you can't erase history no matter if you wave it or not. Removing all the war statues will also not remove history.

You should read up on history, the war and the flag. The war wasn't about slavery as so many believe and neither is the Confederate flag.

That part of history belongs in a museum, NOT - in a public place.

I guess the SS Arizona better be shut down and removed, the Vietnam memorial/wall put in a private museum. These are all parts of history too. Who gives you the right to pick and choose which parts of history we should erase.

If you knew your history, you would know that it was the flag of the Virginia Confederate Army, not racists, and wasn't called the Confederate flag. it was called the Stars and Bars.

There were more than one Confederate flags and none of them looked like the one everyone is most familiar with, and none of them were considered racist. There were at least 3 of them.

It's only lately that the PC crowd is targeting everything southern, which is a shame. They are hellbent on destroying a part of history. How will future educators explain the Civil War if they ignore the southern president, generals, and others who fought the north?

Maybe a little bit of research would help everyone learn the history. I definitely hope the children of today take it upon themselves to find the answers instead of relying on the hate people make of something; IOW, dumbing down the people instead of truth.

Some people rely on the media for the truth but they don't tell the truth if they don't like the person they are reporting on....like they do with all politicians they don't like, but it has gotten worse since Trump was elected.

Really sad how he won't address the violence his supporters down in Virginia are causing and instead calling for an end to violence and bigotry on all sides. Funny how that works because he was criticizing the left directly when they were protesting. He was also, at that time, more concerned about crowd size of his inauguration audience than anything.

But hey, I get it. Trump is so misunderstood. NOT!

The reporters were trying to get a response out of him with the fact that these are his supporters causing the violence and instead of saying he condemns their acts, he ignored the press and left.

I do feel the Confederate flag should be able to be flown without fear on PRIVATE property. However, you are so right in that football players get a pass for horrid, illegal and disgusting behavior and it's well past time this should change. I don't care how much someone likes a team/player, if that person is committing such crimes, continuing to support that person or team is just as crinimal.
