I have not found this yet and wonder if others have. People who are unemployed. No pension from a company, no nothing. What kind of health insurance will they get. My partner is unemployed. If this passes I will cover myself. What is out there (or in the bill) for people who are unemployed. He is not old enough to receive Medicare/cade.

I have a very low income and when I checked, it said I would be on Medicaid, and I'm 57. What am I missing about the age thing as it concerns Medicaid? Seriously, I must be reading something wrong.

I liked the idea where anyone over 55 could get Medicare, but the Republicans killed that.

My BIL is 63 and he doesn't qualify for 2 more year.

Got a tons of more researching to do on what is available for him.

Medicare is what people who are over 65 get, unless they're disabled, and then they can get it earlier.

It sounds like he might be eligible for Medicaid, though.

Medicaid guidelines will change after HCR to include - any and all that live at less than

Expanding Medicaid Coverage

Proposals in the House and the Senate would require all states to provide Medicaid coverage to all non-elderly adults and children with income up to 133% of the federal poverty level. This expansion would fill many of the existing gaps in the Medicaid program nationwide. Maine has led the country in expanding its Medicaid program to help cover the uninsured, but we too have gaps in our program.

The proposed expansion would mean that ALL non-elderly childless adults with income below 133% of the current poverty level could be covered by MaineCare. It would also mean that the eligibility cutoff for people with disabilities would increase from 100% of the federal poverty level to 133%. A single person at 133% of the federal poverty level has an annual income of $14,404.

Thank you for the info. I'm not sure what it means for us as we are not married but we are not at poverty level. He just has not been able to get any work. I was thinking that if there are a lot of people who are unemployed that are going to get free health care why couldn't he. I pay too much as it is and it has become unaffordable.

I am very much interested in hearing what all this means. But cheese-o-man...do you think they could make it any more difficult to understand? LOL (not really laughing, but I have to do something to remain sane).

If the government sets an insurance rate you have to pay based upon what you make per year, do they take into account all your other bills, and that sometimes as ICs we don't get any work coming in at times, and then what they set is more than what you can afford (i.e. more money than your paycheck and you still have to pay all your bills). One of my 2yo males has a cyst on the side of his head. I just noticed it this morning, it's about the size of a golfball and underneath his ear. Its not in his mouth. I have an insurance Marketplace question. If my income turns out to be higher than expected for 2017, will I have to pay a penalty? My family and I are selling our house and moving out of state, but our house is going to sell before we actually move, so we have to rent a house for about 6 months.
