What he doesn't mention are the REAL reasons Bush/Cheney went to war with Iraq, but whatever. At least this is something.

I haven't listened to Beck and probably won't, but I am interested in what he said following that statement. Could he perhaps say that the US made a mistake by leaving no residual forces behind in Iraq?

The Bush administration had plans in place shortly after 9/11, a huge set of plans to take down governments.

Then they looked for the reason to invade. They wanted to invade Iraq and looked for the reason, any reason to do it. The information they got from their source "Curve Ball" did not need to be verified because it was exactly the information they needed.

They looked for the reason to go to a war they had already planned and not the other way around.

There is no draft, so every young man or woman who goes there does so voluntarily. And we were all just happy sitting in our chairs, watching American Idol. Except for a select few, nobody was really paying any attention.

I think wars like Iraq can be a good argument for the military draft coming back. It forces more people to care if it's THEIR kid who might not be coming back.

I remember a lot of outrage. But there was also - a lot of fear after 9/11

Beck had a lot more to say than just making a mistake about Iraq. It was quite powerful and actually chilling at times with regard to his perceptions and predictions, some of which have come to pass.
