341 felons illegaly voted for Franken.  Franken won the election by 312 votes.  Makes you say....hmmmm.

having a conviction or being a felon does not permanently disqualify a person from voting in Minnesota. Their voting rights are restored once they have completed all supervised release. Probation and parole terms can also be reduced along the way once the ex-convict is released from prison or the offender begins serving probation for a number of reasons. Close scrutiny of all records (which in and of themselves can contain many errors) not available to the watchdog group is in order.

Don't forget. This coin has two sides. Chances are that felons voted for Coleman as well. They should be looking at all records, not just the ones handpicked by the squeaky wheels. If they don't, the results will not be valid.

try scrolling down to where the linked article ends and notice where it says, "Full story: Convicted felons may have put Al Franken in Senate -- FOX NEWS." The part that folows the colon is in red. If you click on it, voila...up pops Fox website.

Guess you are not that into full stories, huh? Why bother with all that reading when headlines and sound bytes are so much easier and not so time consuming?
Okay, you are correct on that one - however...see message - An Independent

Didn't realize Daily Caller was a Fox thing. I did see the link at the bottom, but thought that was a different site. Didn't link the two together.

Howevever, with that said, if you google it there are many other sites that have the article that are not Fox News sites.

I will take a few moments to search and read these other articles. If I can find one that has the integrity to mention the points I brought up about restoration of voting rights to felons in Minnesota, selective verification of voter rolls based on skewed lists presented by a biased conservative watchdog group, and the fact that felons vote for both democrats and republicans, I will let you know. Any reporting short of that has no more credibility than the Fox article.

Fox omitted these key points, especially the one about restoration of voting rights. In doing so, the message they convey becomes exceedingly distorted. It replaces the bipartisan nature of possible voter fraud with a strong inference that this is a phenomenon arising from a deliberate effort on the part of Al Franken and his staff to throw the election.

When the full picture is presented, the story is no longer even about Al Franken. It is about voter fraud. This is not the first, nor will it be the last time Fox has engaged itself in this stinky yellow journalism to serve its underlying purpose of promoting a political agenda rather than providing balanced news reporting, as it falsely claims to do.
Okay - fair enough. Will agree with you on this - An Independent

I don't care if Fox reports it or MSNBC reports it or Joe's Bar and Grill reports it.

Voter fraud is voter fraud. I look forward to seeing what you have to post.

Thanks.
Here is something I think you will find interesting. - sm

Here is a collection of reports examining the inaccuracies, inflated claims and "runaway train" nature of Fox reports on this issue. It is a bit lengthy and somewhat repetitive, but the videos included therein are pretty interesting. It also goes into some detail about how the investigation is undertaken and what is required to actually verify voter fraud and/or bring charges against the perps.

If you do read through the whole thing, you will find each of the points I made mentioned, though in no article do all of them appear togther. Something else I think worth adding is the fact that ex-cons, felons and other offenders do not necessarily DELIBERATELY register and vote illegally. There is some degree of confusion and lack of communication about the steps they have to take to have their voting rights restored.

Some of them just assume that once they have completed parole or probation, they can register and vote, but if I am not mistaken, they first have to petition the state (either the Department of Corrections, Parole or Probation Departments, I am not sure which) to request to have their voting rights restored. If they skip that step before registering and voting, then technically they have committed fraud, albeit inadvertant. Those cases would not likely result in formal charges. The only ones who can be charged with fraud would be the those who knew they did not qualify for voting rights restoration but registered and voted anyway.

The laws pertaining to voter rights for felons vary by state. The second link is an interesting way to see the various stipulations each state has and how they compare to each other.

the Minnesota Majority did, it would still be incumbent on the state to subject the data to their own verification process. In a report as meticulously detailed as this one, were the lists of alleged ineligible felons purged of those who were legally eligible to register and vote by virtue of the fact they had been released from supervision, one would expect to see that process specifically described in detail therein. However, there are general references scattered throughout the report that appear to make some of these distinctions. If they actually failed to account for this, the Minnesota Majority would have presented a deeply flawed report in which lists of suspected fraudulent so-called illegal voter registrations would require close scrutiny that accounts for the following variables:

1. Felons listed who have completed supervisory component of their sentence who followed correct procedures, registered and voted.
2. Felons listed who have completed supervisory component of their sentence who failed to petition the state for voter rights restoration but registered and voted.
3. Felons listed who have completed supervisory component of their sentence who followed correct procedures, registered and did not vote.
4. Felons listed who have completed supervisory component of their sentence who failed to petition the state for voter rights restoration, registered but did not vote.
5. Of the first two groups who voted (legitimately or not) who voted democrat.
6. Of the first two groups who voted (legitimately or not) who voted republican. Numbers 5 and 6 would be necessary to support the obscenely bogus claims Fox News has made.
7. Minnesota Majority's lack of access and inability to apply precise birth dates to secure positive identification of their alleged suspects versus the state's ability to eliminate those who have been erroneously identified by the MM.
8. The requirement of burden of proof on the state to establish that a felon has been deliberately deceptive by registering and voting WITH THE KNOWLEDGE that he or she is not eligible. The win convictions, the evidence presented should be irrefutable.
9. Mitigation of cases where felons thought they were eligible, were eligible, but failed to petition the state for restoration of voting rights.
10. Ascertaining whether alleged duplicate registrations (which also can arise from clerical errors) resulted in actual multiple ballot casts.
11. Examining alleged registration of deceased to determine if time of death occurred in the interim between registration date and election day.
12. Determining whether registrants identified as deceased appeared on voter sign-in sheets and/or actually cast ballots.
13. Determining in the case of alleged nonexistent and/or invalid voter registration addresses which ones arose from deliberate deception versus clerical error or simply belonged to a registered voter who had moved between the date of registration and the date of the election.
14. Lack of access to information on reduced sentences, convictions overturned on appeal, parole commencement and/or early termination of parole and probation. Just as the state's voter information from the 2008 election was not up to date, neither are the lists of active versus released parolees and persons on probation.

I feel certain this list of factors is incomplete. This had to be done on 899 suspects in Hennepin County and 460 in Ramsey. The Minnesota Majority's study (according to Fox News) spanned 18 months, yet they accuse the state of foot dragging because they have not completed their work in 8½ months, despite the fact that the process has produced charges and convictions and the investigation is ongoing. IMO, these suspicions are a bit overblown. In any case, I think they have done great work and they should continue to bring pressure to bear down on the authorities that be.

My beef is not with the allegations from the conservative watchdogs or the investigation. I have HUGE problems with what Fox News did with the information. No matter how thorough this investigation is from either the Minnesota Majority or the state, the fact remains that it is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that all felons who voted fraudulently voted for Al Franken. Republicans have felons amongst their ranks as well (gasp)!

Despite the fact that this information is and will remain beyond the reach of the investigation, Fox has made deeply libelous innuendoes and accusations, both in writing and in live broadcasts, stating directly inferring that Franken's victory is illegal and inferring that (hint, hint) perhaps the intent to fraud stretches beyond the felons to land in the office of Franken's campaign headquarters, if not the candidate/senator himself. Stinks to high heaven and leaves one to ponder the question of what purpose is Fox serving by manufacturing and broadcasting this inaccurate, misguided, unsubstantiated, distorted steaming pile garbage?

He wasn't horrible. I think he was a little naive as to the way politics work and some of his other stuff was a little on the goofy side. I was more making the point that Minnesotans don't necessarily choose the candidate the rest of the country seems to think would be good for them, and instead choose their elected officials based on who they think will best look after their interests. So the average Minnesotan does not take too kindly when outsiders call their elected officials frauds, clowns, and various other names just because he wouldn't be their candidate of choice.
Okay - I understand your post now. - he was a good governor

BO Sets Another Record Commuting More Felons' Sentences Oct 06, 2016
