Dream come true for Hillary? Trump supporters

Posted: Mar 20, 2016

I am a Trump supporter because I think the established political system is corrupt. There has been news this morning on cable talk shows there is a good chance Trump will not get the nomination because he needs X amount of delegates even if he is leading in winning popular votes in independent states so there will be a brokered convention in which delegates will decide who will run for president.

It has been said that a lot of new voters who are in support of Trump as well as "Reagan Democrats" that have crossed over to vote for anti-establishment Trump and these voters will not vote in the election if Trump is not the nominee.  This pretty much hands the election to Hillary.

I for sure will not vote for any other candidate that the Republicans decide on at a brokered convention so by default Hillary wins.  This proves to me that the 2-party establishment politicians do not care about the voters, just care about protecting their interests and collection mega bucks from big corporations and special interests.

What are the Republicans thinking?  Do they believe voters are stupid or are they so afraid of an anti-establishment candidate they will hand the election to a Democratic career politician by not endorsing Trump?    Frown

Could Trump run as an independent - if that happened? (nm)

Not sure if Trump would run as independent - but a split Republican vote is not good

[ In Reply To ..]
I think the Republicans are suicidal at this point if they decide to take the nomination from Trump.

Stupid is as stupid does.

It is not taking the nomination but there is a - number you have to reach

[ In Reply To ..]
and if not reached, then not nominee. Just because of how big you think you are does not mean you are.
So the Republicans can choose a candidate - who has no delegates? Sounds shady.
[ In Reply To ..]
They are talking about running a 2-time loser, Rick Perry, who did not even run this year as a third party candidate - and Kasich is pitching himself to be chosen if Trump is not given the nomination because of not enough delegates. Exactly how many delegates did Kasich win?

How in the world is this not shady. Republicans will lose and rightfully so. They are making up rules to suit their agenda to keep a non-establishment person from winning. They are protecting their own interests/agenda and making sure that their cash flow keeps coming from big business and special interests.

The political system is so corrupt it stinks - on both sides. There should be a revolution.
The delegate system sucks. They should get - rid of it and count REAL votes.

Trump made a promise not to run as a third party candidate - MTMT

[ In Reply To ..]
But the Republican establishment is considering running their own nominee to keep Trump from being the Republican candidate. How hypocritical is that?

Lindsay Graham was on "Meet the Press" yesterday and - his interview said it all

[ In Reply To ..]
Here one of the higher ups of the republican party stated outright that he would rather see the republicans lose the White House in the upcoming election rather than see Trump win. Very, very interesting interview. One of his points was if Trump won, the GOP would be destroyed for years. I think right now we are seeing the end of the party.
Lindsay Graham is a RINO who barely - sm

won re-election. Of course he would like to see Trump lose, so he can continue his gravy boat $$$$$$ for himself. I think Lindsey Graham is only worried about his own political future-which is bleak at best.

Not many of the upper elite met with Trump today - because of not wanting to be

associated with him and the few, I think 4 or 5, that did meet with him said to be afraid with republicans losing the presidency, their positions could be gone also.
Are you sure it was because Trump was - TrumpTrain

not available to meet with all of them, with 2 elections tomorrow and his daughter about to give birth and talking at the Jewish Convention? The upper elite-as you call them, are perhaps afraid their positions could be gone if he is President is not a bad thing, it is a good thing! How is more candidates working for the will of the people rather than lining their pockets with special interest money a bad thing? Maybe we watch different news outlets. Trump has plenty of endorsements, Chris Christie, Ben Carson, Jeff Sessions are 3 off the top of my head. Many governors and law enforcement organizations, generals, military people have endorsed him, record breaking crowds and his poll numbers keep going up. I think he will win Arizona tomorrow by a landslide, but I will be surprised if he wins Utah and expect him to be in last place. But, that's okay. The Mormons are a different kind of people (first-hand knowledge) and with Romney (Mormon), Glenn Beck (Mormon) and of course Orrin Hatch (over 30 years as a Mormon Senator enriching himself), and Senator Mike Lee backing Ted Cruz, the Mormons will do as they are told by the Mormon "elite."
If he had time to meet with the ones (think about 5) - today, could have been bigger group
[ In Reply To ..]
One of the names Jeff Sessions was there but not any of the big republican names. Would not have mattered if 5 in the room compared to 15 say. I think he might win Arizona, looks like his type of people, older white but as far as people being told how to vote, the last time I voted this year no one was allowed to be there at the place where I stood. As far as his daughter giving birth, well he is in Washington and I don't think she is so seems like that is not a real priority for his being there when the baby is born. He did try to pander to the Jewish group today though mentioning that "my daughter is about ready to have a Jewish baby." I guess that probably won a few over.
Arizona's average age is 40!! - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Is that "older white" to you? Please research before you post false information. (suburbanstats.org and US Census). His daughter, is, in fact, about to give birth to a Jewish baby (her third Jewish baby), his third Jewish grandchild. How is stating a fact pandering?
Did you watch the speech? Everyone, everyone - even talking about his pandering
[ In Reply To ..]
The older white guys are the ones who are mostly voting for him, that is talked about time and again, not the white woman, surely hardly any black people, Latinos gathering in droves to vote against and now probably American Indians are going to vote against for his twitter rant (again today) against Elizabeth Warren.

Instead of just stating she is having a baby, he had to state that in front of the Jewish meeting. Oh, come on, now, really? Even Ray Charles could see through that statement. That was pandering at its highest.
No, I was busy doing research and - Trump Train
[ In Reply To ..]
thinking for myself. White woman here, voting for Trump with three half-Hispanic children-all voting for Trump. I highly doubt that ALL American Indians are coming to the defense of Elizabeth Warren and will unite against Trump for the sake of her. Funny logic! My own grandmother said she was French Canadian Ojibwa (aka Chippawa) and I have about as much proof as Elizabeth Warren does (none) that I am Native American, 1/32, 1/64, etc. But, geez this board gives me so many laughs every day, it is becoming addictive. I will not be uniting with my ahem Native American brothers and sisters against Trump because Elizabeth Warren is a liar. Pandering is doing something such as supporting BLM when you are not black, are not jobless, homeless, poor, or have any black relatives, so stop with the Trump Jewish pandering-at least he IS related to Jews.
You have 3 half-Hispanic children, oh wait - he did not slander half-Hispanics
[ In Reply To ..]
people but he certainly did Hispanics, murderers, rapists. You should feel good knowing how he feels about Hispanics and yours are half? I have a mulatto child so never would I vote for such a despicable person because in his world if you're not white, you're not right.
Yes, half-Hispanic American citizens. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
Yes, they are half-Hispanic in ethnicity. This does not equate to illegal alien which is what I think you meant to say. Why should they be so thin-skinned and offended? They are Americans. Obama is half-white, so going with your logic and the racial division he has caused in this country, you sound like a hypocrite. You either do not do research or conveniently forget that Obama has done nothing positive for the African-American community in terms of jobs. Sounds also like you voted not once, but twice for the despicable Obama, based solely on HIS race. Pot calling kettle black.
Yes, I only vote for light skinned black men, - any running this time?

No rapists, murderers or light skinned black men. - sm
[ In Reply To ..]
I guess the wonderful Ben Carson who has endorsed Trump is too black for you? Ted Cruz and Rubio not Hispanic enough? Carly Fiorina not woman enough? I guess you will have to go with Hillary since her husband is known as the unofficial first black President. Is that light enough "black" for you?
I did. He was awesome! - Nm

I have heard the same thing, about forming - possibly a third party

[ In Reply To ..]
I definitely am not a Trump supporter, have not liked him since the 80s but having said this I absolutely feel the republicans are thinking they would absolutely give the presidency away rather than support Trump. The republicans are thinking this is a man who cannot control his mouth, is foul, has no experience whatsoever in running a country, does not speak of policies but only how many people are voting for me. The republicans thought the last Bush was uneducated but they know Trump has no advisers, no policies and look at him as being totally dishonest. I think even if Trump were to get the nomination it would be a landslide in the other direction.

No landslide in Trump versus Hillary - They are both polarizing and unlikeable

[ In Reply To ..]
To decide between the two is like deciding which terminal disease you want to die of.

What is really bad here is the fact - that huge amounts of republicans

[ In Reply To ..]
are totally against their own supposedly nominee. I am not hearing the same of the democrats talking against Clinton.
Democrats may not be as intelligent. They are sheep - Clinton has so much baggage
[ In Reply To ..]
I honestly believe Hillary panders to people who are not up on current events or even her history back with Bill as president.

If Hillary and the socialist Bernie is the best the Democrats have to offer then they are relying on the stupidity of the Democratic voters who Hillary panders to.
There are a lot of people, both Dem & Rep, - that the polls have ignored because
[ In Reply To ..]
they haven't been vocal about who they're voting for. It's highly likely that both Dems who hate Hillary and Reps who hate Trump and all the others will end up voting with their minds instead of their party affiliations, and vote for Bernie - the candidate of sanity.
