16,000 Bank of America employees lose their jobs...where is the outrage?

Posted: Sep 20, 2012

Why isn't the media telling this little story?  Probably because it will reveal just how bad this economy is and the Bamster will look bad.

Couple reasons why MSM not saying much - backwards typist

It's people becoming unemployed again AND it's one of the "too big to fail" banks laying these people off.

"BofA isn’t the only bank cutting jobs but the size of its efforts are by far the greatest. Citi, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and many financial firms in Europe are trimming the fat as well but it’s BofA that’s been under the most pressure by shareholders to make significant changes." --Forbes

Uh, oh! I just realized. I may have helped this happen. - backwards typist

I paid off my credit card at BofA a month ago! LOL

Help. Is this supposed to be right or left wing outrage? Free - enterprise at work? That IS our system.

B of A isn't run by the government and can structure its giant self any way it wants. BTW, you might want to consider jobs displaced by technology as one of the factors. Also, that in a company we've allowed to become "too large to allow to fail" 16,000 people isn't very many.

Oh please...16,000 isn't too many...really? - whatever

Obama says everyone is doing just fine and 16,000 people lose their jobs - plus many more people in other sectors. These people are someone's Mom, Dad, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa...and you say it isn't too many. If this would have been under GW Bush, you would have been yellin' bloody murder. Your comments are insulting to those 16,000 people.

B of A has over 200,000 employees. Not MY doing BTW. - (Doncha love the web?) NM

Warren Buffet is the biggest share holder. Buffet is greedy. You must be a lib like Buffet. All these lay-offs in the midst of this robust economic recovery for barry. Buffet and Barry are friends.

Because if the media tells about B of A, then all will know that the bailout FAILED and continues to be a big fat failure.

Obama To America-I Win, You Lose.Mar 22, 2010
"Give me tyranny and give me debt" has replaced “Give me liberty or give me death.” With his health care holy war, President Obama is sending America at least 10 messages since taking office: 1. I win; you lose. 2. My will; not the will of the people. 3. Government of Obama, by Obama, for Obama; not government of the people, by the people, for the people. 4. Corrupt House rules and autocracy; not play by the rules and democracy. 5. “I’ll tread on you” now step ...

Bank Taxes?Jan 16, 2010
Okay..so President Obama wants to start having taxes for the banks because he feels that these banks should pay back us taxpayers because we bailed them out.  Now...how smart is that considering that the banks are going to pass those taxes onto us and so basically taxpayers will be paying the taxes of the banks so the banks can pay the taxpayers back.  Now does that make a whole heck of a lot of sense!!!!?  Sheesh.  The only reason we bailed certain banks out anyway is becaus ...

I have a question.  I haven't had a bank account in YEARS, because I just use a payroll card and have been quite happy with it.  I was finally deciding to save some money though, so went and opened a savings account.  I received a letter in the mail saying that my savings account had been debited $71.00 because I owed an old bill with the same bank I had gotten the savings account through.  I had a checking account with them back in 2007, but ended up closing my account ...

IRS Overpaid More Than 600 Employees Approximately May 11, 2017
The Internal Revenue Service, which is responsible for collecting federal taxes and enforcing federal tax law, was unable to accurately deal with its own complex rules governing the payment of its own employees and ended up overpaying more than 600 IRS workers about $4,200,000, according to an audit report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration. The IRS also underpaid more than 900 employees about $2,700,000, according to TIGTA’s estimate. The inspector general found th ...

Big Jump Seen In Health Costs For Employees Oct 14, 2009
As companies begin unveiling their workplace benefits for next year, many employees are learning they will have to dig even deeper into their pockets for health coverage. Such price increases have become a fact of life during open-enrollment season, when workers sign up for their health plans. But the jump is expected to be steeper in 2010 than this year, as employers struggle with the impact of the recession and continually rising insurance costs. Employees will pay $4,023 on average in premiu ...

The last garment factory that survived for 112 years is now gone. They just couldn't hang on any longer. Why Illinois Is In Trouble, 63,000 Public Employees WithJul 26, 2017
Illinois is broke and continues to flirt with junk bond status. But the state’s financial woes aren’t stopping 63,000 government employees from bringing home six-figure salaries and higher. Whenever we open the books, Illinois is consistently one of the worst offenders. Recently, we found auto pound supervisors in Chicago making $144,453; nurses at state corrections earning up to $254,781; junior college presidents making $465,420; university doctors earning $1.6 million; and 84 small-to ...

Comcast Employees Get Time Off To Protest Trump'sFeb 02, 2017
TRENTON -- President Donald Trump's executive order temporarily restricting travel from seven majority-Muslim countries prompted Comcast to give its employees paid time off to protest. Trump's order sparked protests around the country and elicited rebukes from a handful of CEOs of companies that employ tens of thousands of U.S. workers, including Bill Ford, CEO of Ford Motor Company, who took to the airwaves to say the ban "goes against our values as a company." This Article About Bank Tellers Hits UncomfortablyDec 06, 2013
Just a few short years ago I made $20+ per hour, now I don't even want to know, probably $12-15 if I am lucky. So it's not just minimum wage McDonald's workers, in this article it is bank tellers, rather similar to us. They need better clothes though, but then again we sometimes need equipment and access to high speed internet which eats into pay. I think years ago companies would have been ashamed to have their employees needing assistance. They try to blame this on President Ob ...

Obama To Propose Wage Freeze For Federal EmployeesNov 29, 2010
Let's watch and see how this goes over. Already Steny Hoyer and the National Federation of Federal Employees are against this proposal. My thoughts on this (regarding the union), why should the American people that aren't covered by unions have to make all the sacrifices? Why should unionized employees get all the 'breaks' no matter what issue comes up?   NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- President Obama on Monday called for a two-year freeze in the wages of federal employee ...

EEOC Tells Employers To Investigate Employees Who Wear Aug 05, 2016
You know that government can’t restrict your speech. Officially. But they can in all kinds of practical ways, just as they can do lots of other things to you without ever really taking an official action against you. Take the famous “Don’t Tread On Me” cap. Congress will never pass a law that says you can’t wear that cap, just because politicians may not like what the cap stands for. Constitutionally, Congress cannot do so. But if you think that means the government can’t come do ...
