extreme fatigue sm

Does anyone else suffer from extreme fatigue? I'm so tired I can't even type. Just walking a few steps is tiring. Some days are better than others. I have a hard time lifting my legs to get into my truck or into bed. I do have hypothyroidism. I'm overweight but can't seem to lose any weight. My metabolism is pratically nil. Now my doctor has put the depression tag on me so I'm basically screwed about having anything done. I'll admit that I am probably somewhat depressed but I've been depressed before and it didn't come with this extreme fatigue. I woke up this morning tired. Any suggestions? My mom does have fibromyalgia. It seems that once you have the depression tag on you the doctors won't bother to look for other causes. I'm really struggling. Thanks for any suggestions.

When was the last time you had your thyroid checked? You might need to change your medication dose.

Have you ever considered about sleep apnea? That can make you very tired.

Do you get outside and get some sun every day? Maybe that sounds silly, but I notice that I really struggle in the wintertime with fatigue and depressed mood but start to feel a lot better in the spring/summer when the sun is shining and I can get out and soak it in. If I am able to exercise it helps me to feel better too. I know it is hard to want to exercise when you are exhausted. Maybe start with some walks and try to bring it up a bit from there.

I had thyroid checked in June. It was high and they actually lowered my dose of levothyroxine. I'm on 175 now, was on 2 mcg. I have 5 ponies and 3 dogs so I'm outside a lot, but I agree about wintertime. I'm also extremely cold sensitive. About sleep apnea, I don't know, how do you tell? I only sleep with my dogs LOL!

Since you live alone, it's hard to tell if you snore or not, but snoring is one of the big signs.

When my mom was diagnosed with sleep apnea, she said that being just tired through to her bones was one of the big signs. She sawed logs when she slept, too.

Another really telling sign is the lack of any kind of dreaming when you sleep. If you have severe enough SA you never really get into REM sleep. Both my mom and my SIL said that one of the really striking things they noticed when they went on a CPAP machine was that they started dreaming again.

Also, another symptom with my mom at least was the condition of the bed when she woke up. She tossed and turned like crazy because she was never really sleeping soundly and when she got up in the morning, the covers were all over the place and at least on one occasion she had actually shifted the mattress.

I think SA is a real possibility for you that you should bring up with your doctor. If your insurance will pay for it, it wouldn't hurt to have a sleep study done.

that I could pass on to him. I will tell him first to check with his doctor but he is feeling so fatigued with the treatments is talking about what would happen if he gives up on them. I have had no one really close to go through treatments but others here might have and just asking for anything that would be helpful to him. I need to find a remedy and fast. I've got too much work to deal with this. I have such extreme light sensitivity. I'm typing with both eyes squinted almost shut. I have an extreme fear of bridges which keeps me from venturing anywhere there's a bridge. Even freeway overpasses affect me in a similar manner. After 20 years MTing, my wrist and hand pain disappeared after starting editing versus transcribing. But now both shoulders ache and I have pain on lifting above head.
