Am not sure what to make of this article? Link below!! Do all men think like that about the issue of circumcision? Do they regret having been circumcised? Reason I ask is I had my son circ'd and now this article kind of has me wondering if I did the right thing :(

I think these days it is still commonplace to be circumcised and most men would prefer it to fit in. It might slowly shift in the other direction eventually.

I would say either way, men pretty much do just fine. : )

Almost 26 years ago, when young son was born.. - sigh

his pediatrician recommended it.

I had a good friend some time ago whose son was not circumcised at birth. When he was 5 or 6, he had a bad infection in this area. That little boy went through hell, and I felt so sorry for him.

Needless to say, I won't be having any more children at this stage of life, but I'd most certainly have it done again if that was so.

As far as appearances, the circumcised male looks - so much better than the

skin hanging over the penis. I had my son circumcised and had no problems. Years later had grandsons, 3 and 1 got circumcised, the other 2 did not until later when the foreskin unable to be retracted, almost unable to urinate, the kids like the other one I read here had big trouble and eventually went on to circumcise at 3-5 years of age, a time when it really hurt them more. I have heard for years about the smegna (spelling) associated with being unable to retract foreskin and wash good enough and causing not only the male problems but sexual partners he might have as well.

My son is now 20 and was not circumcised - Nix to circumcision

[ In Reply To ..]
I have three sons, 39, 33,and 20. The first two I had circumcised as a matter of routine, not thinking about it. With my third son both my husband and I did a lot of reading up on the subject and made the decision not to subject this tiny newborn to the pain. He has never had an ounce of trouble because of it. He's not sexually active yet, and I doubt if I'll hear anything except maybe indirectly through his father if he has any negative effects in that area, but hygienically, it was never a problem.

The idea of the penis "looking better" without a foreskin is totally a result of societal conditioning. What dictates this? What we are used to seeing. If we had our toenails removed at birth would we assume toes looked better without toenails? Probably.

Is there any other body part that God gives us that we routinely cut off at birth? I know I'm treading on dangerous territory here, because in the Jewish tradition it was God who said men should be circumcised, but why would He give us something and then tell us to cut it off?

I do believe this is a decision that should be at least researched and thought through by parents, not followed blindly. I would think, as the article said, for every male who has had an infection or problems because of not being circumcised, there are probably millions walking around their whole lives with intact foreskins and never a problem. We shouldn't let a few anectodal stories make up our minds for us!

I said circumcised looks better, having seen both - can speak from my own experience

[ In Reply To ..]
Oh, anectodal stories had nothing to do with the REAL pain the g'kids suffered with lack of retraction, almost complete closure of the foreskin over the tip of the penis. Was there, not any old wife's tale, know of what I speak. Others can feel exactly like they want. Even typed on grown men who have had to have them. In my psychiatric dictations done in the past, never typed on 1 guy who missed his foreskin though.
Let me rephrase - Nix on circumcision
[ In Reply To ..]
I'm sorry. I did not mean to minimize your grandkid's experience. I only meant anecdotal in the sense that the bad experience of an individual or a few should not necessarily translate into what's right for the majority. My first husband was uncircumcised and it, IMHO, enhanced our sex life greatly (unfortunately that wasn't enough to save the marriage!). My only point, though was that people should research and think through the decision, then decide what's right for their child.

I don't like anteaters! - LOL

[ In Reply To ..]
I got to see my fair share of penis back in the day and I hated the ones with foreskin! It just seemed so much more wet and had more of a smell to it. I only dated about 4 men that I slept with who had this and all of them had the same issue with the smell and wetness. A lot of men have that "ball sweat" and I would always make one of the guys I was dating to shower before we did it because I just couldn't handle it. He is the one where the anteater phrase comes in so please no one get offended or anything. Not just the uncir. guys stink I mean any guy that sweats do stink. I guess it just reminds me of a doggie wiener and that kind of grosses me out.

Trump acted illegally!  What he did was the actions of a dictator.  He broke the constitution and attacked without congressional approval.  We live in a democracy and one of the rules on an attack like this is that it needs congressional approval. Do you not remember what Bush went through before we invaded Iraq?  It took a long time for him to get approval but he did.  Trump is a loose cannon and acted on his own and broke our laws of democracy. Donald Trump exudes white privilege. Without it, he wouldn't be President of the United States. No black man in America could ever have said and done the things he has said and done (don't make me list them ) without an advanced degree or a single day of elected experience no less, and rise to the highest office in the land. I do believe that we need to bring in more tax revenue.  I agree with the pres on that one.  However, I don't believe raising the taxes on the rich is the answer.  That alone still will not cover the amount of money we are spending.  I also think that the initial step in bringing in more tax revenue is to close loopholes in the tax code.  We are in major need of tax reform here.  What good is taxing the rich more when you have big companies like GE not paying A ...
