grocery list anymore?

More and more, people seem to just use cell phones at the store instead of using a list. We were at Krogers a little while ago, and encountered at least 20 people on cell phones while shopping, asking what to get, etc. All ages too, from teens to the elderly. Drives me nuts!!!

[ In Reply To ..]I've never used a grocery list, but I don't use the cell phone to see what's needed unless it's absolutely necessary. When buying for my vegetarian daughter, sometimes I have to give her a call about a certain product she wants.

[ In Reply To ..]I use my Blackberry for everything! I love especially that while sitting at my computer working I can switch over to my lists and then send it to my phone!
What I think IS silly though is people who are CONSTANTLY on their devices, driving, walking, at a restaurant... It seems especially rude when your at a restaurant and there is a "loud talker" in the room!

[ In Reply To ..]I took my daughter's Ipod touch away last week (she more than earned that punishment, I guarantee you!) It has taken a few days, but I am seeing such a different attitude from her. The withdrawal period seems to be over and gosh, what a sweetie I have for a daughter. It's like she has joined the family again.
It was my fault for letting her spend too much time on it. It just happened gradually and I didn't notice. Anyway, if and when she gets it back, there are going to be very strict time limits imposed.
I think all these gadgets are really interfering with relationships.

There's just something about having my list in one hand and my coupons in the other and then crossing an item off my list when it gets in my basket!! By the time I get home from work, the last thing I want to do is deal with any type of device (phone, computer, anything!)

I keep my running list on my computer, order-izing as I add to it, then just print it out and go when the kitchen turns into Mother Hubbard zone.
My ex-husband called me the other week .. he was in the grocery store looking for the kind of muffin mix "we" used to use. I sent him chasing the goose for several minutes, him grumbling the entire time - knowing he was likely annoying other shoppers gave me a chuckle.
Childish I know, but it was a flash of fun.

I am just wondering about an idea I have had and wanted some feedback to see if it a workable plan in your mind. I am thinking of starting to be a personal shopper for people for their groceries and household items. I am thinking that I can make money this way by taking their shopping lists and buying the groceries using coupons and then they still just pay their grocery bill and I make my money by whatever coupons I can come up with toward their orders.
